The food was good, the staff very friendly and pleasant, the price was a bit high but the food and portions were excellent. A comment should be made regarding the owner's or manager's attitude towards his staff: sir, your employees are not dogs, and your reprimands in front of customers are disrespectful. How would you react if the roles were reversed?

A very warm welcome! We discovered this mountain pass by chance and had a hard time leaving; the view was magnificent. We highly recommend this place. Oh, and I almost forgot, try the Auvergne sausage with truffade; it's absolutely delicious! Thank you, we will be back to see you.

Excellent establishment. Hearty and delicious dishes. Local cuisine. We first knew Le Buron 30 years ago, when it was run by the previous owner and was already a good, beautiful, and typical place. The change in ownership has in no way diminished its quality.

No complaints, the main course was excellent (Aubrac beef + truffade) and the dessert, although quite generous, was equally so. Perfect for recovering after the Plomb du Cantal loop!

A very nice place. Despite a phone reservation the day before, we weren't expected. We were seated anyway, but off the terrace. The meal was decent. It's a shame the price of the daily special wasn't listed on the menu. The owner was very unpleasant, barely polite, and really gave the impression of treating his customers like cash cows.

Hotel-Restaurant Le Plomb du Cantal

26/06/2026: Based on the online review of the sample room, we were hoping for a pleasant end to our stay. What a disappointment! Under the pretext that it would be easier to transport our luggage, we were given a room that wasn't even worthy of a two-star rating: impossible to fit two suitcases, only one bedside table. The bathroom was dilapidated: a square sink in the corner, an ancient toilet, but the advantage was that you could wash your feet while sitting on the toilet, as the shower flooded the room if you used too much pressure. And all this for the price of a three-star room… So if you stay at this hotel, avoid room number 10!
29/04/2026: We had an excellent stay at this hotel where everything is done to make guests feel at home. The cuisine is very good, featuring organic and/or local products. The atmosphere is cozy and the welcome is warm, even familial. The Tour de France will pass by this hotel in July 2026. Attention cycling enthusiasts if you want to take advantage of the many benefits of this excellent establishment while being in the front row for this sporting event.
