16/05/2026: The best place in Saint-Flour, without a doubt! Delicious local cuisine and some more original dishes. Everything is homemade. The owner, incredibly friendly, even went from the dining room to the kitchen for our enjoyment. While it was good before, we found it even better than in previous years. Excellent polenta with olives as an accompaniment to some dishes, melt-in-your-mouth pork cheek. And a delicious homemade lemon tart, for example. Plus, a great wine list. Very good value for money.
09/05/2026: A remarkable lunch at this small restaurant in Saint-Flour: delicious dishes made with fresh ingredients, original flavors, and subtle combinations. The service was top-notch, efficient, light, and infused with a truly delightful sense of humor.
I highly recommend the pan-seared Aubrac beef tartare with Saint-Nectaire cream—a delight for the taste buds!
And the desserts? Absolutely divine!
A truly wonderful place that I highly recommend.

09/06/2026: Renaud Darmanin is passionate, and it shows. The menu is more local than ever (you don't forget your roots that easily): the vegetables come from the garden, and the suppliers are all nearby. That evening, we had asparagus from a local producer and a divine bisque, as well as melt-in-your-mouth lamb in a reduced jus, not to mention a truffle-infused bone marrow that was simply divine. And on top of that, the service is impeccable. Head straight to Marcolès!

10/05/2026: Chance led us to this charming restaurant. We were welcomed like royalty. A very friendly atmosphere and wonderful, simple, healthy cuisine. €16.50 for a starter, main course, cheese, and dessert at lunchtime on weekdays. I challenge you to find better.

22/02/2026: A magnificent restaurant in the heart of Aurillac. The menu was a delight to browse, the ingredients carefully selected, and Florian was friendly and knowledgeable about his menu. The dishes were incredible, and the prices more than reasonable. We have absolutely no complaints except to say thank you and that we will definitely be back.

25/05/2026: Very disappointed by the truffade, which bore no resemblance to the traditional recipe. The one we were served was made with grated cheese (like Gruyère). My grandmother from Aveyron made a grated cheese soup that tasted identical, but without the potatoes.
Disappointed to pay €18 for a dish that didn't live up to expectations. A tourist trap... a shame, because the staff were friendly.
25/05/2026: A fantastic place! We love going there for lunch or dinner whenever we're in our beloved Cantal region.
The bourriols are excellent, as are the other dishes and desserts!
A place we happily recommend!

08/06/2026: We spent two nights in the largest room, which was easily comparable in size and amenities to what we often find in 4-star hotels.
A plumbing problem (blockage and gurgling noises) spoiled our first night; reported in the morning, the issue was immediately addressed by the young team (with a drain cleaning truck), who very graciously offered us the rest of the night. A hotel (and café-restaurant) to remember and recommend if you are traveling in southern Cantal and northern Aveyron.
26/05/2026: Young, friendly, and welcoming staff. The restaurant has a short menu (mostly homemade) and excellent value for money. They even have a swimming pool!
