Cabaret Neuf sur Charmes-Sur-L'Herbasse

A lovely little discovery on the road... We stopped by chance, but what a treat! Excellent service with delicious frogs' legs and snails! One small downside... I didn't have enough room for dessert 🎂 In short, a great little restaurant, just the kind we love!

We arrived today at 12:30 without a reservation, and my partner and I were welcomed with open arms. Even though the restaurant was full, the owner (an excellent pastry chef) seated us. The service and the atmosphere were warm and friendly, with everyone always available and attentive. The food was a delight. I highly recommend making a reservation and visiting this restaurant where conviviality is truly valued.

We had a rather mixed experience at this restaurant. The service was disorganized, with some tables being served before others, even though they had been there much earlier. The wait to be served was far too long. The "all-you-can-eat" frog legs (part of a €32 set menu) were served in homeopathic doses, five at a time, with a significant wait that quickly discouraged us from ordering more. If you're a frog leg enthusiast, you'll need to be patient and not have a train to catch. A single prawn (admittedly quite large) on the plate is a bit stingy. The desserts were too simple, the kind you can find in any self-service restaurant, like tiramisu, panna cotta, etc. In short, a very average experience that won't encourage us to return.

A truly lovely and charming place, ideal for a pleasant lunch. The cuisine is traditional, homemade, and of very high quality. The €18.50 set menu, including a starter, main course, and dessert, offers excellent value for money. We ate very well and had a most enjoyable time. I highly recommend this restaurant for its friendly atmosphere and the quality of its food.

What a wonderful place! The food was hearty and delicious, a real throwback to the 70s. We'll definitely be back! 😍
