Café Barock sur Saint-Tropez

Le Café is a beautiful, old-style establishment with a chic atmosphere. Prices are reasonable: a rich carpaccio with homemade fries and mayonnaise costs 25 euros. The glasses of rosé are quite steep, but the houses or chateaus are of good quality.

We had lunch inside on July 14th. The atmosphere was calm, the decor very original, and the welcome perfect. The service and the food lived up to our expectations. A real treat!

Le Café is one of those Saint-Tropez institutions that many people will probably want to experience at least once, but our evening honestly did not live up to the reputation. The reservation and arrival process were smooth, and we were given a nice table. Our waitress was also very kind and sweet throughout the evening, which we appreciated. That said, the overall experience felt like a place that may have fallen victim to its own popularity. The food was fine, but for the price, the quality and taste were clearly below what we experienced at other restaurants in the area for much less. Since Le Café is also known for its party atmosphere, we were expecting a much more lively and polished evening. On the terrace, however, we could barely hear the music from inside, and the volume kept going up and down instead of staying at a normal level. At times, we could hear the neighbouring terraces more than Le Café itself. The lighting also felt inconsistent and offbeat rather than creating the festive atmosphere people seem to come for. Inside, the atmosphere was more intense, but not necessarily in a good way. It was extremely crowded and difficult to move around, even just to go to the bathroom, without bumping into staff or being in the way. The staff generally looked very stressed and uncomfortable, as if the restaurant would benefit from having more people working on the floor. The singer was good, and we stayed from around 10:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., but the music selection felt quite outdated and better suited to an older crowd, even though many of the guests seemed younger. Overall, it felt more like a place people go because they have seen it on Instagram or TikTok, rather than because the food or party atmosphere is truly exceptional. I’m glad we experienced it once, and again, our waitress was lovely, but for the price and reputation, it was disappointing. There are other places nearby with better music, a younger and more energetic crowd, and a more enjoyable overall atmosphere.

Stopped for a nightcap and loved the atmosphere. Great live band, people singing and dancing, and a warm, friendly crowd. Service was welcoming and the energy was fun all night. A great spot to end the evening in Saint-Tropez.

We had steak and fish . Fish was one of the best I ever had . Steak was soft tender and we asked medium and it was greatly cooked to medium Lovely love music . Great service with lovely staff. Our waitress was nice and polite Will definitely go back if visiting again We had no reservations and we asked for inside sitting which they kindly sat us inside in a nice table

Nice café in Saint-Tropez with a good location and pleasant atmosphere. The coffee and tea were good, and it’s a nice place to sit for a short break while enjoying the vibe of the area.

A beautiful spot in Saint-Tropez: excellent food, great atmosphere, and a fantastic DJ and band. We had a lovely time, and the staff were generally friendly. However, we were very disappointed with the manager. After a dinner costing over €400, we simply asked to be seated inside to better enjoy the ambiance. We were told we absolutely had to order a magnum for €900. Yet there were only three of us: one person who only drank whisky, my brother, and me. I simply wanted a small glass of Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, and since that's what I wanted to drink, I'd almost say he agreed to seat us. It wasn't a question of budget, but of principle, especially after seeing several other people seated with only a few bottles of wine and beer. It's a shame, because this feeling of unfair treatment slightly spoiled the evening. Fortunately, the setting, the food, and the atmosphere remained truly delightful.
