CAFE BLEU sur Anglet

Hello everyone, Yesterday, August 15th, I took advantage of a get-together with friends to try this restaurant, which was new to me. We received a warm welcome. For an aperitif, we shared a seafood platter: delicious. For my main course, I ordered the salmon tartare, which was a bit of a disappointment. Adding corn to reduce the amount of salmon seemed a little cheap for a restaurant of this quality! The dessert was good. And the coffee tasted like all the other bitter coffees from other restaurants—what a shame!

We ordered the ham croquettes and the linguine with baby squid, and we found them very good. However, we were a little disappointed with the Caesar salad, which was barely a vegetarian salad with only three small pieces of chicken in it… A shame, especially for a Caesar salad!

Excellent restaurant, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal!! From the starter (incredible crispy prawns!), through the main course (delicious Basque burger, very good seared tuna, a delight!!) to the desserts (delicious French toast and chocolate mousse… mmmhh!!) everything was excellent!! Very pleasant setting by the ocean, in short… it was fantastic :)

A very pretty setting facing the sea, with a beautiful view and a pleasant atmosphere. 🌊 We had a very good meal: the dishes were tasty, well-presented, and we appreciated the quality of the food. However, we were disappointed by the welcome and the overall atmosphere of the service. The manager didn't seem very friendly, and we were also quite surprised by the way he spoke to some of his staff. Unfortunately, this affected the atmosphere, with a generally unfriendly team, with the exception of one young woman who was very kind and pleasant. Another point that struck us: our two children, young adults, ordered burgers with fries, but the portions of fries were really very small. When it came time to pay, I saw other plates of burgers with portions of fries easily two to three times larger. It's hard to understand such a difference for the same dish. One of us also ordered a cheese platter. Here again, we were very disappointed with the portions: they were truly tiny, especially considering the price. The quality was there, but the quantity-to-price ratio was clearly insufficient. It's a shame because the food is good and the setting overlooking the ocean is superb. With a warmer welcome, a better atmosphere in the service, and more consistent and generous portions, the experience would have been much better.

We're a young couple who came by chance, and we weren't disappointed at all. Despite a wait due to a busy service (which is perfectly understandable), the staff and the meal were simply incredible. Honestly, we'll be back as soon as possible! 😊

Great atmosphere, excellent food, but the service could be a little faster.

A very good lunch for 14, by the sea, with quality homemade food (special mention to the profiteroles!), and impeccable service.

We come here several times a year with family and friends. The oceanfront location is ideal, the staff are always pleasant, and the food is excellent.

Good restaurant, always excellent service. The only downside: the number of profiteroles has been decreasing over the years. Five years ago there were three large ones, now there are only two, which are smaller and more expensive 🤷🏼 That being said, you can go there without hesitation. It's the best oceanfront restaurant in Anglet.

Excellent service, very friendly. Simple but very good food. Great view! Perfect!
