The bartender gave me a super warm welcome. The atmosphere was pleasant and lively. If I ever go back to a café in Grenoble, it will be this one!

They know the regulars, take the time to chat, and you never feel like just passing through. The coffee is a treat for discerning coffee lovers. Whether it's a strong espresso or a cappuccino, each cup is expertly prepared, balanced, and served with care and consistency. At lunchtime, Café de France offers refined yet accessible cuisine, with a well-executed, balanced daily special at a reasonable price. A simple but effective offering that fits perfectly into the neighborhood's rhythm. Finally, what undoubtedly gives Café de France its greatest charm is its neighborhood atmosphere, a rarity these days. Regulars, students, workers, and neighbors mingle naturally; conversations mingle with the clinking of cups, and time seems to slow down. It's a vibrant, authentic place, quintessentially Grenoble.

I didn't come for lunch, just a drink, but the welcome was really lacking in warmth and the atmosphere was quite dull. It doesn't make me want to come back for a meal 👎

After reading through all the great reviews, I was disappointed. Food was good, service not so much. We were told to sit anywhere which we did. 10 mins later we were told to move.

A very pleasant and authentic place. An old-fashioned French café, unpretentious. Friendly and clean service. €6 for two hot chocolates and one espresso – nothing to complain about.

I loved this place! The waitress recommended the soup to start and it was AMAZING. Everyone was super friendly, and the rest of the food was great too. You can really feel the good energy here.
