Let's start with the positives: the service was quick and friendly, and the location was great! The only downside was the food! I found it very expensive for what we were served. It wasn't very good (although the ice cream was). I ordered a steak with fries, coleslaw, and peppercorn sauce. My salad was wilted, and the fries seemed really mass-produced (and not very tasty). Homemade fries and a fresher salad would have been perfect, as the meat itself was good.

Friendly service, beautiful location, quiet street. Terrace in the shade of a beautiful chestnut tree. The value for money is excellent: with 2 adults and 3 children, we had a main course, drinks, and dessert for less than €100. Everything was very tasty and of high quality. We booked again immediately! Highly recommended!

Very nice café, very pleasant and welcoming staff. The restaurant was full, but we were seated with a smile like VIPs. I highly recommend it.

A lovely shaded terrace in the heart of the village, with efficient and friendly service. As is the case almost everywhere in the Lot region, vegetarian options are hard to come by. As a last resort, we once again opted for a Salad/Main Course 🥗 for €18: Tomato/Burrata. The ingredients list stated: tomato, salad, burrata… We were served a deep plate filled with salad with a few slices of tomato around the edge (barely half a tomato per person) and, indeed, a burrata. We almost asked for it without arugula as we're not fans. We might have been lucky enough to get more tomatoes! Honestly, we felt ripped off on this dish. And for a vegetarian, it wasn't very filling. Luckily, given the heatwave, we weren't very hungry. My husband's Ocean Salad 🦐🐠🥗 (€19) was decent. The recipe needs updating for the season!

I only tried the ice cream, hence my lower rating. Friendly welcome, quick service, pleasant terrace. Good ice cream. Pictured is the piña colada sundae.

We had lunch here on a Sunday. We came to Montcup for the Sunday Market. The Bistro has a lovely seating area out front under a massive Chestnut tree. The servers were really pleasant and helpful with explaining everything (even using English). The menu is varied and reasonable Entrees, Salades, Assiette completès along with Plats. I had Magret de Canard, which came with generous portions of Fries and salads. My partner had the Salad Ocèan, which was a very large bowl with both smoked salmon and tuna and really nice fresh bread All in all really good food, served well and at reasonable price

The service was a little slow, but the food was excellent – ​​we thoroughly enjoyed it! A minor disappointment was the dessert, as I was told it was a strawberry pavlova, but it was nothing more than a large meringue, with no fresh fruit at all, which is one of the key ingredients of a pavlova. A shame about that! Everything else was fantastic!

A lovely spot in the heart of the village, perfect for a relaxing break in the shade of the chestnut tree. The menu features local specialties as well as excellent curries that offer a welcome change from the traditional duck! Pleasant service and reasonable prices. We loved the atmosphere and the charm of the village!

Excellent value for money. Patrick the boss and Paulette the employee are great, kind, helpful, efficient. Beautiful indoor room with wood stove, and nice outdoor terrace.
