A legendary spot in La Rochelle. Service can be a little slow at times, but the servers are very friendly and professional. Delicious mini pastries. Olives with aperitifs. Fantastic setting. A must-visit when in La Rochelle.

The place is certainly beautiful, and the service is quick, but the cappuccino was truly awful. It had no creaminess whatsoever, and probably very little milk. I had such high expectations for this iconic La Rochelle establishment!

We came this evening for a drink and a bite to eat at this café, which we've known for a while, though we're not regulars. We received a very warm welcome from Philippe, who was extremely friendly and attentive. Our meal was served early in the evening without any wait; we didn't even have to ask for water, bread, or sauces. The meal was very reasonably priced compared to the menu, so we were quite pleasantly surprised! The Charentaise mussels were €16.50 and were excellent. I should also mention that, unlike many restaurants, there were very few empty shells, which suggests they were cooked properly and stirred perfectly in the kitchen. The dish was so full that it took me over 30 minutes to finish! A real treat. I should point out that the photos were taken during the meal, not at the beginning! The pot was bulging! We're not disappointed by this café, where we rarely eat despite living only 700 meters away, but it always looks tempting. Thank you to the waiter for his time, including when presenting the desserts and seating us on the terrace. The fries were delicious, the portions were exactly what you'd expect from home cooking, and the desserts were fresh and beautifully presented. See you soon! Gabriel.

Whatever break you choose, eating and drinking is great. Pleasant terrace. Good food, from the smallest to the grandest treat, fantastic. Always worth the detour.
