Cafe de la poissonerie sur Vannes

Looking for oysters, we left another place because “the fishmonger was closed” and came here just around the corner in the backstreets of Vannes. Easy parking! Very small but busy. Excellent English and very gluten free-friendly. The best oysters we had on our trip. Delicate, briny but meatier. Very creative menu, beautifully executed. I had their take on Kig ha Farz, a Breton dish of hearty stew and gf buckwheat stuffing. Cod dish with spuds & cabbage was delicious too. Lovely, enthusiastically friendly staff at this delicious locally flavoured bistro off the beaten track. Go!

A place that hasn't changed since the 70s. The restaurant offers a special menu on match nights: squid as a starter, pork knuckle or sirloin steak with homemade fries, and French toast for dessert. A real treat! The prices are surprisingly affordable considering the quality. Truly a pleasant spot for the pre-match ritual of RCV.

This is an excellent café-restaurant, ideally located opposite the fish market. The dishes offered are among the best value for money. The service is always top-notch; you feel right at home, and I return regularly with pleasure. It's very convenient on market days for a drink or a coffee, and the terrace is lovely when the weather is nice.
