Café des Deux Moulins sur Paris

Beautiful place, exceptional treatment!!!

It is located on the main street Rue Lepic that goes up to Montmartre and it is the cafe where the popular movie "Amelie" was filmed. If you enjoyed the movie, then you definitely need to enjoy a coffee!

Amelie! Don't let the novelty of this location deceive you: Out of the thousands kf cafes in Paris this is still an excellent place to visit for a bite. I've been here a couple of times, 11 years apart, and both times were actually very nice. I don't expect anyone to speak English when I visit France, and make an effort to communicate in the native tongue, but the staff here hears my New York accent and accommodates me nonetheless. Thanks for that! Surprisingly, the food I've had here has been quite good, whether the bœuf bourguignon, a nice salad, a shepherd's pie, or a nice flan (a la Amélie) it was all prepared much better than I expected. Maybe I got lucky, relative to some other reviews, but I've never had an issue with the food. The wait service has always been nice, but you have to make the effort to raise your hand and get the waiters' attention. They're used to locals coming in and nursing a single espresso all day. That's Parisian cafe culture for you. So if you want to order something, kindly let them know. It's great for a photo op, too, if you're a fan of Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Amélie like I am. Don't let the haters fool you, this is as good as any other cafe in Paris, so you might as well stop by, because this entire street has lots of places worth visiting on your way up to Sacre-Coeur.

My first time coming here and I had a blast! I think is a very good investment of your money if you purchase the menu option. Make sure you come here hungry bc you will be very satisfied with all the dishes, and enjoy the whole experience. I would like to give a very special mention to my waiter Sami, he was AMAZINGGG! I usually don’t find waiters with such a great attitude, and very attentive. He was kind and sweet, also great English! I was really happy, if you go there you won’t regret it

The place is run down, I ate the dish for the first time so I can't compare it. They were tasty. On the plus side, the waiter was very nice.

First of all, we went there under the influence of the movie, like everyone else. The waiters and service were very high level. Especially Maxim is a waiter who adds value to the place. Creme Brule is as good as it is praised. Omelets were standard. Since it is a famous cafe, it is a bit expensive compared to its counterparts.

Compared to a well-known place, it is not too crowded and the prices are affordable.

If you love Amelie, you will love this place!

Arrive as early as you can, the place is full after 9am. Prices are between 3 and 7 euros for coffee and chocolate, breakfast (eggs) about 13 euros. The staff is super friendly and some speak 4-6 languages. You can go in to take photos and go to the bathroom where they keep some props from the movie, all for free. The cafe retains the style of the movie and how you experience if you enjoy at least one coffee with 🥐 there.
