Cafe des Lices sur Avignon

If there's one café worth remembering for its typical and welcoming atmosphere, it's this one. In the morning, the space is shaded and overlooks the old Fine Arts building. The coffee is excellent, made by a true barista. Everyone knows each other, which is really pleasant :-)

Slightly off the main tourist streets, typical old-style French bar, which is a complement. The friendliest service we had out of 6 bars/restaurants over 2 days. We just wanted something simple for lunch, an omelette/salade, not on menu, no problem, delicious. Chilled local white wine, perfect. Obviously a “locals” bar too, sat chatting with owner, chewing the fat, exchanging opinions, letting the day go by. If you’re looking for France, you’ll find it here.
