Café du Château sur Anet

I'm leaving out the fifth star for the food, which I haven't had a chance to try yet, but the steak frites with mushroom sauce whetted my appetite this weekend. I stuck to coffee and the PMU (betting shop), and it was really great. These bars/brasseries/PMUs should be listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage! Unfortunately, they tend to disappear in favor of cold, phony concepts. Strong support to the Café du Château.

Excellent little brasserie. Quality cuisine, efficient and friendly service. Very good value for money.

When I can go there for lunch, I head to the castle café. It's always a pleasure to go there; the owners are lovely, and we eat very well (special mention for the French toast-style brioche ☺️). Go there with your eyes closed!

A very friendly owner who initially refused to give us a table because there were 7 of us without a reservation and there was no more room. And seeing us being refused more by his fellow restaurant owners nearby, he came to meet us in the street, telling us he would sort it out and that we could come to his place!!!! An exceptional gentleman. Thank you again a thousand times! We came for lunch on Saturday, July 5, 2025!
