Very nice place!!!! Magnificent private evening!

I was surprised to come on a Wednesday afternoon with my daughters and to find almost no one there! The visit was therefore very pleasant for the three of us!

5 for the works and 1 for the signage, the information for moving around the museum is very insufficient, even non-existent or not logically placed. It is therefore a very beautiful museum, with beautiful works that we never tire of. The exhibition on Liners is... interesting, just interesting, nothing more. On the other hand, the signage is almost non-existent. There is a lot of walking, going up and down large stairs. The exhibition is tucked away in the Cube. The elevators are not indicated, at the foot of the stairs as would be logical and almost everywhere. They are indicated nowhere, or very little. I had to ask, after several flights of stairs; the guards are friendly. One accompanied me, it wasn't easy to find. Then when we go down, we don't know on which floor we should stop, we find ourselves too low, we still need a staircase to go back up and succeed in getting out of this maze, a sinister one at that. Should we therefore take a plan for each visit? This is absurd for a museum that we know, and would be useless if the signage was correct. And why waste paper? It's nice the idea of ​​getting lost in a museum if you see paintings at the same time, if you wander down the deserted stairs and corridors it's tiring and depressing.

A great museum. Pictorial offer from the Middle Ages to the modern age. About 400 works. Mostly French painting. Some works that were unknown to me were truly notable. A fabulous collection of portraits. Some sculptures. 9 euros. About three hours minimum. It's worth it if you have half a day in Nantes. To put it another way, the explanatory signs could be larger. They are very interesting but very small.

Time for a weekend in Nantes to visit the Nantes art museum 😉

A sober and refined space that I am rediscovering and which gives pride of place to contemporary art without forgetting the classics. The place is bigger than you imagine and deserves a good half day minimum if you want to take your time there. A few downsides, the link with the Chapel is not obvious and the plan is not always easy to understand to find your way around. Fortunately, the numerous staff help us with professionalism and the welcome is pleasant.

Besides the place being magical, the “liners” exhibition enchanted me.
