Cafe du Port sur Loctudy

A legendary spot with a stunning view of Île-Tudy. Like the recent reviews, I agree that the bartender needs to improve her welcome! Let's hope it's just fatigue that excuses her coldness. The seasonal waitresses more than make up for it with their kindness and smiles.

The location is easy to access, we were served quickly, but the maintenance leaves much to be desired, hello cobwebs and dirty mirrors, and so on.

One of Loctudy's iconic bars, steeped in history, with a breathtaking view of the harbor, as its sign indicates. Many photos left by the former owner celebrate the local fishing boats. It's the only bar where you can enjoy a sunset over the harbor. Prices are generally reasonable: the platters (bought pre-made and served as is) are just about acceptable for two at €19 if you're only looking for a light snack. For €0.50 more, try Le Pinardier, less than 100 meters away, where the platters are homemade, much more generous, and prepared with aromatic herbs and flowers; €6 for a "dry" sausage with a decent selection of varieties. €2.80 for a half-pint (€2.50 before June), €8 for an Aperol spritz – so-so, but compared to around €10 for something truly impressive… One thing to know: there's an extra charge for each drink if you're seated on the terrace (it's written on the menu). Bands with an eclectic repertoire are sometimes invited for special occasions (most recently, the fireworks displays on July 13th and August 14th, for example). Pleasant and a good atmosphere! One of the downsides is the service: not very friendly with most of the staff you encounter (not everyone is happy, thankfully; some seasonal workers are professional). You sometimes get the feeling you're bothering them; a smile seems to be optional (an extra charge not yet listed on the menu). Bring this up with the manager, who looks down her nose at you and launches into a series of jokes that will exhaust you because you're there for a positive experience, unlike her. Paradoxically, a free drink is sometimes offered to regular customers for multiple large orders. There's a microwave available upon request for baby bottles, but the manager is hesitant about cleaning it in case the bottle "explodes" (???). Another drawback is the hygiene (toilets, glasses, etc.). The public restrooms at the port are less than 100 meters away if needed; the hygiene is the same, except there's no toilet paper, soap, or hand towels (the smell is still the same, though). In short, the establishment is okay for groups to meet up and enjoy the setting. Their website, an English template posted without modification, won't give you any information about the establishment. Several other reviews point out her blatant lack of friendliness and even politeness as a business owner. It's high time to re-evaluate how she treats her customers.

We went to this restaurant for crêpes and we thoroughly enjoyed them. A special mention for the apple caramel crêpe, it was delicious. The waiter was super friendly and the setting was lovely. We highly recommend it. The Marseillais
