Wow. For me one of the special elements to visiting France is cafe life. Pavement coffees. The versatility of the French Cafe, where coffee expands into beer, food, good wine and culture. In Rouen there is no better cafe that the gorgeous art deco Metropole. Atmospheric, lovely coffee & food and a wonderful people watching spot as locals and tourists alike come & go from the close by station. The Croque Monsieur is superb. If you are in town this is a must sit and experience.

A fantastic discovery since the reopening! The new owner has truly breathed new life into this café-restaurant. The welcome is warm and friendly, and you immediately feel at ease. The dishes are delicious, beautifully presented, and prepared with high-quality ingredients. Special mention goes to the convivial atmosphere and the excellent service, always delivered with a smile. You can feel their genuine desire to do things well and to satisfy their customers. I highly recommend this place, and I'll gladly return!

12/08/2026: As long-time customers, we entrusted the team with our daughter's 18th birthday party and we absolutely don't regret it! We organized a tapas evening with family and friends, and everyone unanimously loved it! The waitresses were fantastic (there were many of us), remaining smiling and available throughout the evening, preparing cocktails non-stop. The tapas were excellent and more than plentiful, while also respecting our wishes and tastes (several vegetarians, children, people with fish allergies, and those who don't eat pork), and everything was prepared in such a way that everyone could enjoy themselves! In short, I highly recommend them and will continue to visit very regularly in the future.
11/08/2026: Very warm welcome. I opted for the set menu: Starter + main course + dessert: €30 I had the Kaarage chicken and the duck shepherd's pie. My absolute favorite was the French toast, which was incredible!! The recipes are very well executed from start to finish!

Your down-to-earth nature makes the experience even more enjoyable. It's a welcoming place, but above all, the food is delicious. The juices, the coffee, everything is perfect. Places like this are rare. Living just around the corner, I want to come every day!
