Cafe Lobut sur Villeurbanne

A very reputable bistro, perhaps so much so that they forget the customer doesn't have to accept everything. Indeed, I received a video call on speakerphone, and given the ambient noise, it was difficult to hear each other. Well, it only lasted two minutes because after ten seconds the owner started yelling at me. They need to learn to express their displeasure more politely. The frogs' legs were very good, the gratin was so-so… The Lyonnaise salad was too vinegary… In conclusion, I was disappointed… Especially by the owner's attitude! Other bistros are much more worth the detour!

The terrace area is located at a roundabout, making it quite noisy. It's a shame the service and welcome didn't match the quality of the food.

A true Lyonnais bistro, just the way we like them! I highly recommend the tripe stew (tablier de sapeur), it's excellent. The food is good and plentiful. Friendly atmosphere. A place far from the hustle and bustle of Old Lyon. A place worth discovering!

If you want a genuine Lyonnaise experience, this is the place to go. The food is well-cooked, the service is good and all for a really good price. The head chef even came out at the end of lunch service for a bit of small talk. Lovely, familial atmosphere that can't be recommended enough. Remember to call for a reservation, as even the regulars can be put on the waitlist due to high demand (said wryly by our table neighbor).

We hadn't made a reservation, but they still found us a small table for three on the terrace. The service was professional, a little reserved but adequate. The menu was limited but worthy of a true bouchon (traditional Lyonnais restaurant). We had a good meal for a reasonable price. I'll be back, I promise!

Excellent place! A true Lyonnais bistro where the food is superb. The cuisine is high-quality, the dishes are flavorful and prepared with excellent ingredients. The staff is very friendly, smiling, and attentive. You receive a warm welcome and immediately feel at ease. I highly recommend it!
