Affordable, well-located (near the motorway exit), great staff! We were looking for an inexpensive hotel for a stopover between Germany and Spain. Therefore, our only requirements were that the hotel be as close as possible to a motorway exit and be as inexpensive as possible. A bonus would have been the option of having a light meal at the hotel in the evening. We found all of this at the Kyriad (we usually stay at Ibis Budget, but wanted to try something different). The price for the rooms is very good. The rooms are very basic and not very large. Admittedly, the first impression isn't great; the building with the rooms looks a bit run-down and neglected. The rooms themselves also appear to have been neglected for quite some time. The furnishings are simple but practical. The TV is larger than expected, and a kettle is also provided. The cleanliness of the rooms is a definite plus. There's absolutely nothing to complain about. The room and the bathroom are spotless. Although we had a room upstairs facing the highway, the noise level wasn't a problem, even with the window open, and we slept soundly. The bathroom is old but clean. The bathtub, which also serves as a shower, is fine. The water pressure is good, and a simple curtain works well. My father, who has limited mobility, had some trouble with the bathtub, as getting in and out wasn't easy. The stairs, without a handrail, were also a bit tricky for him. But he managed. What really stood out, however, was Regis, the employee who greeted us in the afternoon and then arranged a wonderful dinner for us after a long day. Admittedly, we only ordered a couple of simple (probably frozen) pizzas and some drinks. But Regis's friendliness and attentiveness made us feel very comfortable, and we were happy to pay the price for the pizzas and drinks. An employee like that is worth his weight in gold! After a restful night, we were delighted to find a small but well-stocked breakfast buffet. The coffee was excellent, the bread selection (croissants, baguettes, and whole-grain bread) was ample, and the choice of toppings was practical and satisfactory for us. In short: if you're looking for an affordable hotel right off the highway and don't have high expectations for luxury or aesthetics, this is a great choice.
