Camping River sur Meolans-Revel

What a gem of a campsite! From the moment you arrive you feel the love, warmth and hard work that goes into this place. Beautifully set in nature, fresh bread every morning, delicious pizzas, and a really nice swimming pond for hot days. The pitches are also super spacious. Our 2-year-old had the best time too. There isn’t much for kids, but that actually sparks creativity, and it’s also the reason why we chose this campsite in the first place. There’s plenty to explore for (young) kids! The sanitary facilities are simple but spotlessly clean; if anything, a newer building wouldn’t hurt, but honestly it didn’t bother us at all. We had zero disturbance from other guests, and being there in the low season made it extra peaceful. There is plenty to do nearby if you don’t mind driving. (swimming in Lac de Serre Ponçon, the best hikes, charming villages like Montclar and Saint Paul sur Ubaye and more adventurous outdoor activities) A calm, friendly spot in nature we’d love to come back to make more memories. Thanks to the lovely owners that were great in communication.

Beautiful location on the banks of the Ubaye River Our bungalow was clean and modern Affordable price However, the evening meal was tedious because the service was very slow for practically nothing left on the menu except lasagna and pizza I ordered a cheese plate for €12, which was served without bread without being told it was out So the restaurant lacked anticipation for this weekend when thousands of bikers were heading to Barcelonette

The campsite is ideally located near Barcelonnette, in a spot where the river soothes you. The setting is magnificent, and the managers are incredibly kind. The restaurant is very good and the breakfast is generous. We'll definitely keep this spot in mind for our future road trips 👍🏻

Beautiful little campsite, surrounded by nature and quiet. The owners are welcoming. The restrooms are functional and super clean. We weren't able to try the restaurant (it was closed), but we knew that before arriving. It's a place where you can recharge your batteries.

This was truly the most beautiful campsite we've ever stayed at. We were lucky enough to get one of the two sites on the "island." We were almost alone there, which we greatly appreciated. Our site also gave us direct access to the clear, cool lake. The walk to the restaurant for snacks and the Wi-Fi zone was also not far for our little one. The restaurant offers a selection of local wines and beers, including on tap. The menu mainly features various pizzas, but also local specialties. We loved the daily breakfast menu with fresh bread and croissants. The location is wonderful, in the middle of the mountains. Despite the heatwave all around, it was very pleasant and mosquito-free here. The area offers opportunities for all kinds of recreational activities. Rafting is offered on site. There's also a small pool. The restrooms are a bit dated but consistently clean. Since I don't speak French, the two very friendly owners were very accommodating in their native language – English. I definitely recommend them.

What a lovely campsite this is. Claire and David are owners of a caliber you don't often encounter, no matter how busy they are. They always have time for a chat, are always polite, and always have time to help you with anything… whether you want to plan an activity, go for a walk, or need a garage for your car. Nothing is too much trouble. Helpfulness is paramount here. There's not a lot to do at the campsite itself, but there's no need for it in this area. The view from the entire campsite is breathtaking! And the surrounding area offers plenty of challenges. The campsite has a small swimming pool and a small lake (pond) for cooling off. There's a ping-pong table (which is very popular) and a play area for little kids. We enjoyed the mountains, drove out to explore various mountain passes, took a day trip to Italy, went on a few (challenging) mountain hikes, and enjoyed some smaller activities in the valley. The area might be a bit difficult to reach (no highway nearby), but it's definitely worth the drive! Claire and David, thank you for a fantastic stay!

What a fantastic experience! And there was a ping-pong table that proudly proclaimed "vintage." That table was the meeting place for all the 5-12 year olds there; our boys had a blast. Last but not least, the service and passion for camping are clearly evident at this campsite: a very atmospheric setting, a beautiful garden, and, of course, top-notch service. If you don't like crowded campsites with lots of children's programs (the kids can have a blast at the ping-pong table), try this campsite. The best spot is along the river.

It was a wonderful experience, a super nice couple. They welcomed us super quickly and were super attentive. The place is like a fairy tale, the lake where you can swim, the views of the river and the mountains. The tranquility you breathe. We slept very well, the plot was in perfect condition, and the bathrooms were very clean. If we come back, we'll definitely come back! Thanks for everything!

Beautiful campsite. Beautifully situated in the valley, quiet and ideal for excursions (hikes). Next to a river. The campsite has a small swimming pool and a small pond, perfect for children. We stayed in Chalet Genepy, which was excellent. The food in the restaurant was excellent, and all in a very beautiful setting. Claire and David, the owners, are very friendly and helpful, and they offer great tips for hikes and excursions. Definitely recommended for those looking for a small, quiet campsite in a beautiful setting.

Best campground. Located in the valley next to the river, super clean, small pond and pool for swimming, great food in the restaurant for dinner and bread for breakfast. Lovely hosts and friendly guests. Will come again :)
