Carre Petanque Obut sur Saint-Bonnet-Le-Chateau

We chose this establishment to celebrate my partner's birthday, mainly because it has a good reputation in the area. Unfortunately, we were quickly disappointed… All evening, we felt rushed. Every half hour, someone would come to remind us what needed to be cleared, what to do next, that we needed to move on… In the end, we felt more like we had to keep to their schedule than enjoy our evening in peace. For a birthday, this is quite oppressive and, above all, not very pleasant. The food, on the other hand, was good, and the platters were excellent, as was the cake. But we were also very disappointed by the lack of any gesture of goodwill, despite a substantial bill and several bottles of wine being purchased throughout the evening. When we expressed our disappointment, we were simply told that the owner wasn't there and therefore nothing could be done. We would have really appreciated a bit more flexibility, attentiveness, and business acumen. It's a shame, because the venue and the food had everything we needed for a lovely evening.

A lovely family meal for four at Carré Pétanque. The food was decent, nothing exceptional, but perfectly acceptable. And the waiter was fantastic, very friendly 👍 However, a huge disappointment regarding the pétanque courts. This is Obut, after all, the flagship and image of French pétanque! The courts are sorely lacking in gravel; sometimes you're practically playing on wood, and the condition of the boules provided is frankly appalling. For a brand like Obut, this is a real shame. When you represent French pétanque to this extent, you should have impeccable courts and equipment. The storefront should reflect the brand's image.

A good culinary experience with elegant presentation. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. It's a shame that neither menu includes cheese or dessert. The amuse-bouche is too small (only one cream puff per person). The gray pétanque courts, with the exception of the sandy one (marked in yellow), are difficult to play on. Most of the boules provided in the cases are identical, making it difficult for teams to keep track of their equipment. Furthermore, during a game, we were asked to leave the court "in two or three minutes."

Worthy of a gourmet restaurant at reasonable prices

Recommended only for lovers of bistronomic cuisine and the thrill of propelling metal spheres as close as possible to a wooden marble. The concept of a pétanque restaurant isn't new, but combining them so elegantly is!

A very good restaurant where you can play pétanque, discover the company's history, and buy boules or Obut items/textiles. The view of the collegiate church is sublime. The service and the food are very good, with a special mention for the signature dessert – I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Great idea for a restaurant with courts to play on if you book a table for a game of pétanque. The food is really very good; the meat is tender, there's a good variety of choices, and the desserts are excellent too. Very good value for money. We'll be back; the concept is really great!

A very enjoyable day at this establishment. The meal was delicious and well-presented at a reasonable price, the staff were very welcoming, and the service was impeccable. The pétanque courts are indoors, sheltered from the heat, which is much appreciated during these heatwaves, and from the rain at other times. A lovely day with friends! 😀

We had a wonderful evening. The food was, as always, excellent, from the appetizer to the dessert, the service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. I highly recommend it.
