Casa Mauricio sur Ax-Les-Thermes

Impeccable, nothing to complain about, excellent cuisine, perfect wait time. The food is very good, I highly recommend it if you don't know where to stop for lunch.

It was very good. I had the €18 set menu, which was excellent. I discovered the Lumo pork cooked on the griddle; the cooking was perfectly executed, not dry at all, very tender. My only slight complaint, but that's a matter of personal taste, was that there weren't enough fries for my liking. Otherwise, the service was quick and friendly, and above all, it was the only restaurant with a terrace where there was fresh air, which was very welcome. I recommend this place if you're passing through Ax.

I want to thank the entire team for their kindness and professionalism. I made a mistake when ordering, choosing a dish with meat without realizing it. I only realized it once the dish was served. Since I don't eat meat, I was ready to leave. The gentleman at the counter was very understanding. He offered to replace my dish with a meatless one, without charging me the difference, which was a very kind and much appreciated gesture. A big thank you also to the two waitresses for their warm welcome, their smiles, and their service. It's a pleasure to encounter such a caring team. I will gladly return. I highly recommend this establishment!

Staying in Ax-les-Thermes, and therefore close to Spain, we couldn't miss this restaurant with its soothing sound of the flowing river. The service is superb; the owner and the waitresses are incredibly kind. And what can I say about the food? Simply excellent. For two people, I recommend the fideuà, similar to paella but with small pasta. Absolutely delicious and very generously portioned. The must-try crema catalana is to die for. So, treat yourself to some Spanish specialties while you're in Ax-les-Thermes.

A wonderful discovery in Ax-les-Thermes. At Casa Mauricio, we received a very warm and kind welcome. I speak a little Spanish, and my wife, who is from Galicia, particularly appreciated this simple and genuine contact that immediately put us at ease. The cuisine may not be exactly what you would find in Spain; it seems somewhat adapted to French tastes, but it is truly delicious. A pleasant, friendly place where you're sure to have a great time.

A good find nonetheless, and a restaurant with excellent fresh ingredients and top-notch service from two charming and efficient waitresses... but... Despite the good fresh ingredients, there's a lack of variety in the dishes and side dishes. Your cuttlefish is excellent, but not with fries! And soggy ones at that. Your prawns are good and well-cooked, but the rice is bland and lacks seasoning. Rice, pasta, fries, and no vegetables... the salad swimming in dressing isn't a vegetable. Finally, the garlic mayonnaise isn't aioli, and using it systematically in so many dishes is starting to get tiresome. There's a sense of a lack of complexity in the dishes, which is a real shame. Regarding the restaurant's service, the promise of beautiful bottles displayed on the counter, followed by a meager and ultimately disappointing wine list, falls short of customer expectations. A more extensive wine list or a change of decor would be welcome. As I said at the beginning, I still had a good time, thank you for the welcome 🙂
