Castel Damandre sur Les Planches-Pres-Arbois

Un merveilleux moment dans cet établissement niché dans un superne endroit de notre beau jura. Les plats et le service sont à la hauteur du cadre. Le menu Castel est superbement équilibré. La poularde prise par mon compagnon était d'un fondant exceptionnel. La carte des vins est superbe. Nous avons pris un St Véran qui a bien accompagné nos plats. Le seul regret est que nous aurions du réserver une nuit même si nous ne sommes qu'à quelques kilomètres.. nous aurions pu apprécier le parc au matin... une prochaine fois.

La gentillesse de tout le personnel est à souligner. Les chambres sont agréables, une vue magnifique et un calme absolu. Le petit dej est varié et copieux. Et le repas du soir un délice!

Beautiful place, great walks, great food! Dogs are welcome :) Tip: The standard room is exactly as described, but if you have the money to spare, consider upgrading to stay in the main building

In a green setting everything is magnificent

We have just stayed two nights at this hotel. The setting is enchanting, the buildings have charm and the view of the mountains gives a feeling of grandeur. The staff is adorable and the proximity to the waterfalls is very appreciable. However we were disappointed with the rest. We are not ashamed to say that, for us, paying €185 per night was a luxury, we decided to treat ourselves to this gift after being seduced by the photos on the internet. On arrival we discovered a very basic room: no air conditioning, minimal decoration, a view of the grass and the stairs, a very small television and a window which, when opened, hits the bedside lamp. suspended. There was none of the charm of the exterior of the building. But the most frustrating thing was the pool, the main reason we had booked. The first day we took the robot out of the water ourselves around 5 p.m. He actually stayed by the pool until we left two days later. By the pool only 5 deckchairs for the entire hotel, including one which is broken. I saw people leaving because they were unable to rest at the edge of the pool, others having complained were given a chair...At the water line the pool is green in many places and some stones are broken. For a hotel of this standard, we found it disappointing and we will not return.

A magnificent hotel in an exceptional and magical setting The staff takes great care

We spent 3 nights in this very quiet hotel in the middle of nowhere. The room was very bright and comfortable. The copious and varied “Buffet” breakfasts are served in a bright room overlooking the Damandre waterfall. Every evening we dined in the restaurant and really enjoyed the menus presented and different each evening. A big THANK YOU to the Chef (very very friendly) for the quality of the dishes, the presentation of the plates and especially for the original combination of fresh products without forgetting the "homemade" foie gras. Everything was perfect. We really had a very pleasant relaxing time.
