Nestled beside the Saint-Nizier church, in the shade of a venerable, century-old plane tree, lies "Le Comptoir Saint-Nizier," a peaceful neighborhood bistro, a lovely place to enjoy the fresh air, if it weren't for the constant roar of a few noisy two-wheelers in the street. It's as if the city of Lyon, having become eco-conscious by default, hasn't considered this issue and found a practical solution... But never mind, politics aside, we'll settle in comfortably for lunch here, enjoying a hearty and delicious Croque-madame that will surely satisfy the palate, body, and soul ❤️. As for the mind, it will be delighted—in moderation, of course—by the fabulous terroir of the Côtes du Rhône, where the Syrah grape variety flourishes divinely, in a glass of A wine that embodies the symbolism of the union of the Earth's bounty and the combined labor of women and men, a wine to be savored with pleasure and respect, this marvelous nectar... Coffee will follow, as the magnificence of the dish prevents us from also enjoying the famous Tarte Tatin so delicately offered. We will certainly honor it another day, for this "Comptoir Saint-Nizier," with its warm welcome, is already extending a hand...

I went there in the evening with friends. The terrace is perfect in hot weather: shaded, equipped with misting fans, and they offer very well-made cocktails, with a special mention for the basil smash. I highly recommend it; the staff is very welcoming.

A very nice restaurant: under a huge tree which provides welcome shade, simple but very good and generous portions. The service is very friendly! I recommend it.
