Chateau de Fontager sur Ponsas

This place is a disappointment. It has everything going for it, but in the end, you just decide you won't be back. The service is inconsistent. Some staff are efficient and available. Others ignore you. I remember a young couple who waited over 15 minutes for someone to show up at reception. Management problem? Maybe. The pool is huge. The setting is relaxing. Everything is there. And then… poof!

I've stayed in many hotels, but the warm, genuine hospitality I experienced here is truly special. The hotel has been beautifully renovated – you can feel the love and care that went into every detail. The atmosphere exudes an incredible sense of peace and relaxation. The pool, sauna, and sports facilities are simply superb – perfect for unwinding. I was particularly impressed by the tranquility at night: no noise, just a restful sleep. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, including a TV – you feel right at home. The restaurant is an absolute highlight: both dinner and breakfast are clearly 5 out of 5 stars. The food was incredibly delicious and perfectly balanced – every bite was a delight. Breakfast included fresh fruit, ham, cheese, homemade rolls, and perfect croissants with homemade jam. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back. A visit is absolutely worthwhile! I really can't understand the partly critical reviews – this hotel is highly recommended.

Excellent, tasteful and quiet all around - rooms, restaurants, park and swimming pool.

A very beautiful setting, but noisy due to the nearby train line, and the breakfast didn't live up to the location. No brioche, only one choice of pastries, very little fruit selection, and unfortunately, the freshly brewed coffee was undrinkable.

A magnificent castle with a large swimming pool and attentive staff. A perfect haven of peace for those seeking a place that combines luxury and tranquility. I highly recommend this establishment. Special mention to the chef.

We had such a wonderful stay at the château. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome with their warmth and attentiveness. The food was absolutely delicious, every meal felt like a special experience. The combination of beautiful surroundings, outstanding cuisine, and genuinely kind service made our visit truly memorable. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

We had a very lovely stay at Château de Fontager. The staff is very friendly, correct, professional and helpful. The diner was very good. The château is beautiful, as are the surroundings! Little point of criticism would be that because it is an old building, in our room it was a bit less sound proof from neighbours and the music from the reception/restaurant. But: we will come back!
