Chateau des Herbeys sur Chauffayer

We always come back with pleasure, we have already slept in different rooms but room 2 is magnificent, well heated. Everything was perfect. We liked André, he is perfect as usual. The evening meal was impeccable. The perfect breakfast, just what you need with excellent homemade jams, very good coffee as well as yogurts and local fromage blanc. We have adored. After more than 10 years without returning to this restaurant, we took advantage of this Easter Monday to reserve a table and we did not regret it. Restaurant of great reputation, with quality service, we chose two menus at 43 euros and followed the suggestion of the Chef who offered us 2 crémants de Bourgogne-cassis, for which the quantity was already there for an aperitif , accompanied by small refined toasts. We ordered a 1/2 Morgon 2022, which was perfect to accompany our meal. The starter was preceded by an appetizer (knife cut into brunoise and crayfish tails on saffron sauce). For the main course, we chose a Rossini-style braised beef chuck (with pan-fried foie gras) accompanied by a homemade dauphinois gratin. A platter of varied local cheeses completed this superb menu. To finish we were treated to a farandole of pastries (ball of vanilla ice cream from Madagascar, Opera, Cabbage, Normandy tart) with 4 almond tiles and a bowl garnished with a frying of different chocolates (I fell for it.. ..) A coffee came to round off this Passover meal. Although years have passed since our last visit to this wonderful place, we found this magnificent Medieval room with its immense fireplace which brought us a bit of warmth, and the pleasure of finding in this place, our server, a man attentive, quality, very friendly and very professional, who went out of his way to be pleasant to us, while continuing to train a young apprentice waiter. At the end of the meal, the Chef came to inquire about our satisfaction and greet us as great chefs know how to do, thank you for this gesture of courtesy. I think we won't wait many years again before coming back with friends to show them this superb place.

The best restaurant around! They adapted very well to our request for a vegetarian dish, the value for money is unbeatable for the quality of the food and the quantity The setting is magnificent, in short, go for it!

Excellent meal, very warm welcome. From the appetizer to the dessert, the taste buds are in awe, with quality ingredients!! We really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to return there in the spring with friends to share an excellent culinary moment in a beautiful setting!! Do not miss !!! Magnificent setting and very reasonable menus.

Un excellent repas et une très bonne ambiance au coin de la cheminée un très bon accueil

Beau château du XIII eme siécle, très bel interieur, meublé en adéquation. Vaste et belle chambre (meublé avec goût), salle de bain, WC séparé. Nous étions au premier étage (chambre n°4), les étages (chambres) étant en parquet, si vos voisins du dessus ont la bougeote, le bruit du parquet qui grince pour incommoder les personnes sensible au bruit, préférer les chambres au deuxième étage si disponibles. Lors de notre diner au restaurant du château, sujet à une allergie alimentaire, le chef a adapté un de ses plats, effort que nous avons apprécié, merci. Le personnel est attentionné et professionnel,  vraiement très bien. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au chateau (4 nuits), une très belle expérience. Merci.
