Château Le Verdoyer sur Champs-Romain

Visiting a camper van in mid-September for one night. Beautiful campsite, swimming pool already being cleaned. The location was very good.

Enjoyed this nice campsite for 10 days. There is a relaxed atmosphere with lots of greenery. Children enjoyed the kids club, mini disco and the nice swimming pool. There is also live music a few evenings on the cozy 'square'. A nice lake with a small kiosk is a 7-minute drive away. You can take a nice walk to the adjacent village. At the campsite, turn left and continue straight ahead. Chalet was very nice with lots of greenery. Owner was also very nice and helped us with questions we had

Spacious room in the castle with a view of the campsite swimming pool and the surrounding greenery. A real castle transformed into a cocoon by the owners who took us back in time! Welcoming and attentive owners, as well as all the staff (especially Lily the restaurant waitress). Furthermore, top notch and delicious cuisine with local dishes. We will come back with pleasure and want to try our hand at the mobile home part of the campsite, feeling a real family spirit there! See you next year, always ❤️ Amélie and Antoine

Great campsite to camp for a while. We have booked additional sanitary facilities and personally find the rooms too small. Good hot water. Toilet fine. Cubicle too small. Read: dry off after showering.. Pitch is very large, at least 120m² What is striking in France as a whole is that permanent accommodation (houses and glamping) will gain the upper hand. That's an annoyance. Anyway, this campsite; The shop is sparse, but bread for the morning is readily available. Good facilities at the castle. Snack bar and restaurant and there is entertainment for the kids. Nontron is 15 km away and is equipped with Intermache and Lidl. The campsite is undergoing a major change and that involves big money. So that will take a while. The swimming pool is well done, although we think that the indoor pool could have been made a bit cleaner. So they leave out the little things that cost almost no money and that is your example. In other words, throw a cleaning cloth through it and it looks much better. Would we come back here? Yes, even if it is not for the environment. We have adult children and therefore do different things as parents with small ones. Sarlat very beautiful but 2 hours drive.

This holiday we chose to go to a "Charme campsite". We ended up at Chateau le Verdoyer. A week before our holiday, our friends decided they wanted to go out for a while, so they came with us. Once we arrived at the campsite, we were well received by the employees. We had a spot near the shower rooms and playground. We have a very large tent ourselves, so we hoped the spot was big enough. And as it turned out, there was plenty of room. All pitches are very spacious. Our children (6 and 8) were immediately sold on this campsite. They could go to the playground and swimming pool, which they loved. They have made many friends (largely in Dutch). For fishermen there are 3 large ponds full of fish, especially large carp. There is plenty of room at the campsite to do all kinds of things. Lots of beautiful views. Very friendly staff. And a very friendly owner of Dutch descent. The swimming pool and slide are great. Delicious food, both in the restaurant and at the snack bar. The animation team (Dutch, English and French) was also great. Something was done every day from morning to evening. Our dog was also with us, and you can take a very nice walk around the ponds. We, our children and friends thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and will certainly return. All in all, this campsite deserves a solid 5 stars

We spent the last night of our stay at the campsite hotel. Our room was neat and had a bath. Very nice campsite and friendly and helpful staff.

Great campsite. We had a spacious spot on a quieter part of the campsite. There was also a part that was very shabby. A lot of Dutch people. Sets the atmosphere. If there are also frikandels and bitterballen on the snack bar menu, you know enough 😉. Sanitary facilities okay. Swimming pool of 25 meters. Wonderful to swim lanes before the crowds with a view of the castle. We were a bit disappointed with the food. Perhaps expecting too much? Wine with a cork in it. And mushroom sauce without mushrooms and an unseasoned hamburger that is still cold at the core? Wet carpaccio. My sirloin steak was fine by the way. The desserts were also tasty. Good to realize that you are quite far away from everything and have to get somewhere via all kinds of back roads.
