Awesome! Comfortable weather at end of September. Concerned about the heat for those who visit it in summer months. Not at all handicapped accessible. But audio guide at ticket office only (when you first gain access to the property).

For me, it's my favorite castle: the "Ladies' Castle," as it's more commonly known, the Château de Chenonceau is magnificent. You arrive via a central avenue. The gardens are beautiful and superbly maintained. The architecture, which spans the Cher River, gives the castle an exceptional appearance. The interior is well-decorated, the rooms are well-recreated, and you learn a little more about all the personalities who have made this castle world-renowned. IMPORTANT! If you buy your tickets online, you cannot get the audio guide; you have to buy it separately at the ticket office. We didn't know this, and we missed it…

Incredible! We loved this castle and its history; it truly lives up to its nickname, "the Ladies' Castle." I always recommend getting an audio guide or a tablet to get as much information and discover details that are sometimes hidden. The grounds are amazing, with a wonderful atmosphere. I also recommend taking the boat trip with the company "La Belandre," located in the town just before the castle, to the right of the bridge. The crew is friendly and shares fantastic anecdotes; Captain Cherazade and her sidekick Loris are great! In short, go visit both!

The castle needs no introduction; as you can imagine, it's a magnificent place, especially at Christmastime when it's fully decorated. Exploring the castle and its various rooms is a truly enjoyable experience. The gardens and the castle itself are very well maintained. You can dine in the restaurant or grab a bite to eat at the snack bar. Activities around the castle are also available to fully appreciate the grounds, such as a canoe trip under the castle arches or a boat tour. One of the most beautiful castles in Indre-et-Loire. The various themes and activities offered throughout the year bring the castle to life. A fantastic place!

My favorite Loire Valley castle

One of my favorite castles in the Loire Valley, the Château des Dames was also a major inspiration for Disney. The setting is idyllic, with the castle seemingly floating on the water. A visit is very pleasant, and the interior is designed to immerse visitors in an exhibition rather than simply moving from room to room. There's plenty to read for history buffs. For everyone else, there are plenty of options: The magnificent gardens offer a timeless escape. Outside the castle, you'll find other exhibitions on science, ancient customs, and even a botanical garden that blends food and medicine. You can also take a short boat trip to fully appreciate the surroundings. Parking is free.

I really enjoyed it – we did the tour early in the morning, it was ideal – I thought the castle was much smaller and I was very pleasantly surprised by the floral decorations – a marvel – obviously I recommend the audio headphones.
