Chez Ernest sur Montauban

A bit disappointed with our first experience at Ernest's. It was certainly very hot that evening, but the welcome wasn't very warm, and we were really let down by the €50 set menu. The food was rather bland, which is a shame because the ingredients were of good quality. The dessert was just two scoops of ice cream in a glass, not even enhanced by a small cake or a dollop of whipped cream! The set menu is still expensive for our taste! A very disappointing experience.

We had lunch under a lovely pergola, facing a magnificent fig tree which, I confess, almost made me want to climb it… I hope you'll be picking the figs! We were seated in the back, far from the kitchens, in perfect peace and quiet—which is no small thing when you know that, in busy and proactive teams, a few passionate shouts can sometimes accompany the service. 😄 So it's decided, Ernest: you deserve your five stars, especially when we eat in the back! And above all, we want to come back. Your rib of beef was fantastic, cooked exactly as it should be and incredibly tender. Even Maël, 4 years old—almost 5!—found it very tender. And that, for me, is an undeniable gastronomic benchmark. Next time, we'll come and enjoy your lovely terrace. If it's sunny, we'll ask for a parasol… even if it means a bit more arguing about where to put it! And if everything goes this well next time, we promise we'll even try to cultivate a sixth star. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌱 See you very soon!

Taste is very good, having been there several times. Sometimes the service is slow in the kitchen, so go there to take your time.
