In our forties, we wanted to experience the Marseilles culinary delight of bouillabaisse, and we chose Chez Fonfon. Having made a reservation on their website, our culinary adventure was booked for lunch on Sunday, February 8th, 2026. From the moment we arrived in Vallon des Auffes, under a cloudy sky, the setting was magical. We entered the restaurant, where we received a warm welcome and were shown to our lovely table with its breathtaking view of the arches and the small port of Vallon des Auffes. The servers were very pleasant and smiling, and the restaurant had a warm, inviting atmosphere. We perused the menu, eager to awaken our taste buds. Although there were some tempting options, we opted for the bouillabaisse. And honestly, it was INCREDIBLE, truly without exaggeration. We tucked our napkins around our necks as recommended by our (excellent!) waiter, and there we were, immersed in an incredible broth that perfectly complemented the beautiful, delicious fresh fish from Marseille. It was pure bliss. A final, equally incredible sweet touch completed the experience, making it a moment we'll cherish forever. Would I recommend it? Excellent bouillabaisse with attentive service

A very pleasant place... nicely decorated with a lovely view... The staff is very attentive, yet you feel comfortable... The bouillabaisse and bourride were absolutely top-notch! Very generous portions... Too much even for a 70-year-old (my parents couldn't finish everything)! The dessert was excellent. Perhaps a coulis inside the pavlowa would have been nice.
