Chez Fonfon sur Marseille

A must-see place in Marseille! At Fonfon, the bouillabaisse is simply excellent, a real treat for the taste buds. The white wine from Domaine César is the perfect accompaniment to this feast. The setting, in the heart of the charming Vallon des Auffes, is both friendly and typically Marseille. An address that I recommend with my eyes closed for an authentic and gourmet moment!

The tradition is preserved at Fonfon. Delicious and generous Bouillabaisse and Bourride. Simple, efficient service with joy and good humor. We had an excellent lunch with a view. I recommend.

Quite disappointed with the way we were received compared to other customers. No presentation of the fish in the bouillabaisse (to the others though). No offer to reserve while the others do. Brief. Not the same treatment. Apart from that the taste was there the place is nice but the overall experience did not live up to my expectations.

While passing through Marseille with my family, I wanted to introduce my wife and children to bouillabaisse, in a legendary place in the city: the Vallon des Auffes! We had booked with Fonfon! No communication on the price because we knew that here, we forget the fisherman's pot with the unsold items of the day and therefore the price that goes with it... the table is good, nice view and atmosphere as I wanted it.. . the service begins and the adventures with: - it's long - the smiling but disorganized service - entries never arrive, - it's long - so the dishes arrive but not at the same time, the broth has cooled because the fish are still on the boat... - the service is long long, too long - normally the hot broth returns throughout the service but the service is difficult... In short, a salty bill like the Mediterranean, good food but I'm competing, a postcard decor certainly but for a super lousy service that makes you forget the place!!! You pay for the view... and that's it! Damage As I don't hide behind a comment, I reported it but my bill hasn't changed! Like many other people did that day! Which confirms that the place lives from its location, not from its professionalism...

La bouillabaisse est de qualité. Par contre, le bouillon pourrait être servi plus chaud, ça refroidit très rapidement. Dommage que les poissons ne peuvent pas clochés ce qui permettrait de les gardder chaud plus longtemps. Le tarif des vins est exorbitant tout comme les tarifs des desserts. Nous étions 30 clients dans la salle ce midi. Seulement deux desserts servis, posez-vous des questions. Pas sûre d’y retourner, même s’il la vue est très sympa. De plus, j’ai réservé il y a trois mois avec une vue sur mer et je me suis retrouvé avec une table vue sur la porte de la cuisine. J’ai notifié au serveur que j’avais réservé une vue sur mer et que j’aurais préféré être le de long de la baie mais il n’a pas réagi. Dommage….
