Chez Francois sur Sete

This was my second visit to Sète, and it is so quiet and beautiful that it makes me want to live there after retirement. I wanted to enjoy the night view and have dinner, but there were so many restaurants that I didn't know where to go. Fortunately, there was an underground parking lot right in front (a bit expensive, 60 cents for 15 minutes), so I parked there and stopped by. It was as good as the Google ratings suggested. As expected, the owner was friendly and the staff worked hard; seeing that the place was fully booked at 8 PM on a Sunday gave me confidence in the quality. I enjoyed a simple seafood platter and a cuttlefish dish. A bottle of wine was 20 euros and was delicious, and the oysters were huge and fresh. Next time, I'm just going to order the oysters. For the cuttlefish, the owner recommended the stew over the grill, so I tried that, and it was tasty. However, since the cuttlefish comes in small pieces, if you want to enjoy the unique texture of the squid, I think you should go for the grilled version. If you go to Sète, don't hesitate to eat here!

Chez François in Sète is a true paradise for fish and seafood lovers. We were particularly impressed by the selection of oysters and other seafood. Here, you can taste the proximity to the sea and the high quality of the products. The service was friendly, and the authentic atmosphere made our visit very pleasant. However, I have to deduct one star for the service: Unfortunately, we arrived another day to find the doors closed without any prior notice. This is rather annoying, especially for visitors and tourists, and should be communicated better. Despite this minor drawback, we can definitely recommend the restaurant because of its excellent fish and seafood specialties. We'll gladly come back! 🦪🐟🍷

As with each of our visits, the welcome is warm and the staff attentive. The seafood platter at Le Royal is, as always, magnificent and excellent. Seafood lovers should definitely take advantage of this establishment, which combines quality and freshness in its products.

The food is always very fresh, no problems at all. The owners are serious, they're from Sète, the real deal.

A real treat by the canal! 🐙🐚 We had a fantastic time at Chez François! I loved the scallops and the octopus salad; everything was perfectly seasoned and incredibly fresh. My friend had the fried scallops, and they were simply delicious, perfectly crispy. The setting by the water is lovely, and the service is warm and welcoming. An excellent spot in Sète to enjoy delicious seafood!

Platters prepared live in the restaurant, alongside takeaway orders, fresh ingredients, impeccable service, and a very pleasant setting by the canal. I highly recommend it ;) It gets very busy, so be sure to book ahead and ideally arrive early for more attentive service.

On the quayside, this place doesn't look like much, but once you're inside, it's quite pleasant. The food, however, is a different story. The waiters are inattentive and incredibly unresponsive (to say the least), rarely smile, and openly mock some customers amongst themselves. Lamentable. Disrespectful. The important thing is what's on the plate. The dishes are flavorful and beautifully presented. The swordfish is delicious. The wines are local and good. The value for money is okay.
