Yes, why not just try roast ham with sauerkraut on vacation by the Atlantic? It's not necessary, but you can do it well here. It was very tasty. The beer prices are a bit too high, though.

If you have a hearty appetite, Chez Heidi is the perfect place! 🥨🍖 The portions are generous and tasty, perfect for lovers of truly hearty cuisine. A special mention goes to the shank, a real treat, provided you book in advance as quantities are limited. The sauerkraut is also excellent, authentic, and delicious. A restaurant where you can enjoy Alsatian specialties just the way you like them. I highly recommend it; it was perfect!

We've been vacationing in Lacanau / Le Tedey since 2015 and have often found ourselves in front of Chez Hedi in Carcans Plage after the Monday market, and yesterday was the day. We had reserved a table (absolutely necessary), but upon request, we didn't want the knuckle of ham, which is ham with sauerkraut. The people are incredibly nice and friendly, and the female service is GREAT. So we ordered a small wine and a Paulaner Pression, which immediately came with a carafe of gravy... Great... 5 minutes later, the food arrived: a truly well-filled plate: grilled roast ham, sauerkraut, and pommes de terre with delicious juice... Mmmmmm... the meat was so tender, the sauerkraut was just like mom's - a wonderful evening ended with satisfied guests. We'll be happy to dine here again next week, and we highly recommend the restaurant, hence 5 stars+

We went there to taste one of the house specialties: the ham hock with sauerkraut! We weren't disappointed: huge, delicious portions, served by very friendly staff.

I loved the grilled ham sandwich, the parsley butter was delicious. And what can I say about the team! Smiling and warm like good old Heidi. It keeps its flame alive!

Great restaurant! ... The shank, tender as you like, perfectly cooked... delicious! And every Thursday evening during the summer, a great group of musicians accompanies us with captivating music, jazz standards, and classic pop music... Heidi's is really great!!
