This restaurant is a godsend for the village of La Chapelle Montbrandeix, just like the guinguette (riverside café) or the solitary grocery store. The welcome is warm and the food is good.
At lunchtime, the set menu is simply perfect: generous and refined. There are few dishes on the à la carte menu, but all are very well executed. I recommend the pressed crispy beef chuck, pan-seared foie gras, and rich jus served with carrot purée. A truly excellent place.
