Chez Marie sur La Rochelle

We came to eat at Marie La Rochelle, a tiny restaurant located within the walls of the covered market in downtown La Rochelle, which offers delicious products from the Périgord region. We had a wonderful time and the food was truly excellent. If you're looking for a friendly, unpretentious place where the food is good and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, look no further! The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and manages her restaurant perfectly, all on her own, both in the kitchen and with the service—kudos for her energy and professionalism! We highly recommend it and will definitely come back to eat at your restaurant on our next visit to La Rochelle 😊

While visiting La Rochelle with my mother, we stumbled upon this charming, unique little restaurant. Sometimes things just work out for the best, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal and the friendliness of the owner. We highly recommend it.

This restaurant was recommended to me. It's true that when I arrived in La Rochelle, I hadn't thought about eating Périgord specialties! But I didn't regret it because the food was excellent, and Marie and the young man were truly welcoming and friendly. This market is very pleasant, with its stalls and bar/restaurants. Pure bliss!

We discovered this restaurant while browsing the market. Marie welcomed us with a smile to her family restaurant; the dining room is small but colorful and warm. We opted for three Périgord salads, and what can I say? A delight for both the eyes and the palate! Everything is homemade, and Marie recommended a very good wine to accompany our meal. On the door, it says "Here, the customer is treated like a friend," and that's exactly what it is—it's friendly and welcoming. What's more, we discovered at the end of the meal that Marie is from our town—it's a small world, as they say. We will definitely be back on our next trip to La Rochelle.
