Chez Max sur Auxerre

We had a wonderful dinner outdoors. The food was excellent, especially the chicken supreme and the pork belly... absolutely delicious. Our only slight regret was the long wait; the charming lady who served us could have been assisted so we could have ordered dessert and cheese... but oh well! We had a great time.

A very nice restaurant, ideally located on the quays of Auxerre. The terrace has your feet in the sand, giving it a real holiday feel. The dishes are delicious, refined, and of high quality – a true delight. The staff are very friendly and always smiling, which is also very pleasant.

Excellent meal, especially the minced beef burger with Epoisses sauce.

Beautiful setting on the beach by the Yonne river. Excellent and very refined meal. There was a bit of a wait for service, but it was packed, so understandable. We loved it!

A wonderful experience at Chez Max. We were able to eat outside along the quayside, in the shade. The welcome and service were perfect. We needed a break between courses to take care of our baby, and our hot meal was put on hold so we could eat it while it was still hot, which we greatly appreciated! The "Epoisse" burger was excellent, as was the chocolate mousse. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Passing through, we stopped for a meal and, having dined at good restaurants, I found the value for money exceptional. A very warm welcome... a starter, main course, and dessert worthy of a gourmet restaurant, all for €30!!! The quality and taste were truly outstanding; I recommend it 100%. The only drawback is its location on a very busy road, but you forget about that given the quality! As a former chef, I can only recommend it. Absolutely impeccable, and thank you again for this wonderful experience. The sesame-marinated tuna was excellent, the haddock fillet perfect... in short, thank you to the chef.

We went into this restaurant by chance and what a find. Food is sensational and the service superb. It was so good that we rebooked Auxerre for next year!

A very pleasant restaurant with cuisine that breaks the mold. I loved my mini hamburger with Époisses sauce. Mini in terms of the bun, but not in terms of its filling!
