29/08/2026: We had an absolutely amazing evening. What Chef Hidetachi Kurita and his wife (the only staff) conjure up and present is simply fantastic! The dishes and the sequence of the Japanese-European fusion menu (only €46, which usually costs at least twice as much for this quality) and the preparation were simply original, extremely refined, and precise. My highlights were the perfectly cooked (onsen) egg with mushroom espuma and the Andalusian-style octopus with a mashed potato crown. Every dish was a revelation, both in terms of taste and presentation. His wife, who runs the front of house, manages everything with absolute friendliness, courtesy, attentiveness, and professionalism. A fantastic experience that we highly recommend to all gourmets. In our opinion, this restaurant deserves a Michelin star and around 16 Gault Millau points. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Auxerre. Thank you again for the wonderful hospitality and the excellent food! Definitely go – but make a reservation beforehand!

15/08/2026: Miam! This was our second visit and we will be coming back for sure! They keep their menu very seasonal and each dish is exceptional. Definitely visit if you have the chance but do call in advance to book if it’s a summer day as their terrasse is often full.

27/07/2026: A truly enchanting interlude! We were already familiar with the establishment before its evolution into this new concept combining an intimate restaurant and guest rooms. What a joy to return and see Olivier and Pierre again! The welcome is as warm and attentive as ever, giving the impression of being received as guests rather than mere customers. Dinner was a genuine pleasure, with refined dishes bursting with flavor, prepared with great talent and passion. The guest room itself is magnificent, tastefully decorated and offering all the necessary comforts to extend this wonderful experience. The new, more intimate format also allows for greater interaction and conviviality, which we particularly appreciated. A huge thank you to Olivier and Pierre for their kindness, professionalism, and hospitality. We were delighted with our stay and are already looking forward to returning!

11/08/2026: I discovered a calm, very clean place with oriental tiles and decor – a guaranteed change of scenery. I had delicious takeaway meals. It's well located on a small street in the city center, just steps from the Cadet Roussel fountain. Go there, this place deserves to be known! 👍

24/05/2026: We were a group of 15 on a Saturday night, and our table was set up right in front of the kitchen. A pleasant atmosphere, smooth service, and simple but delicious dishes. Special mention to Alexandre, who was incredibly patient with all of us 😅 The restaurant was recommended by a colleague who didn't usually take such large groups, which is a good sign of quality! In short, I highly recommend it!

13/06/2026: Couscous restaurants have almost all become mediocre, with poor-quality meat and broth that's almost always too greasy. Le Cercle is an exception. A delight: quality and freshness! An exception not only in Auxerre and the Yonne region, but also nationally. For example, despite my extensive experience, I couldn't name a single North African restaurant in Paris or the Île-de-France region in general that's as good as Le Cercle. Warm welcome and fast service to boot. Bravo!

17/05/2026: We were spending the weekend in Auxerre and stumbled upon this great place. We thoroughly enjoyed the merguez couscous, and the staff's friendliness was a real bonus. We highly recommend it!

19/07/2026: Farid is a man of rare refinement, and his restaurant deserves to be better known. I've eaten in many Moroccan and Algerian restaurants and have rarely been disappointed. But when I go to La Casbah, I know I'll receive a warm welcome and that the food will be delicious. If an ingredient is missing, Farid will let me know and suggest something else. He knows how to pair his wines. His Tlemcen wine is perfect with the tagine. And I can't resist the Casbah sundae. Thank you, Farid, and see you soon!
