Beautiful location, lovely shaded terrace, friendly service and quality cuisine – a great little restaurant, the kind you don't find often enough anymore. Well done to the whole team!

The atmosphere was decent, the meal was good, but the chocolate mousse was overly sweet and cloying (we didn't finish it). We were offered the same set menu for the entire table because we were a large group, which wasn't a problem in principle. We requested a vegetarian option instead (they readily agreed, so we were still happy with the menu), meaning a different starter than the charcuterie platter and a different main course than the beef stew. No extra charge for the main course was mentioned during the discussion. When it came time to pay, the waiter announced that there was an additional charge for both the starter and the main course, something that had never been discussed beforehand. The charcuterie platter and the peppers in oil were the same price as the starter we ordered, and the fish fillet offered shouldn't be more expensive than a beef stew, especially since the portion was much smaller. This was disappointing, as we didn't expect to pay more than anticipated. Remember to ask questions, if you think of it, because they don't tell you anything and don't ask for your opinion at the time of payment. Not great.

A truly beautiful spot away from the crowds. Chez Michel is located right on the charming village square of Castagniers and offers stunning views and a very pleasant atmosphere. The live music in the evening was particularly lovely – a great atmosphere, a relaxed ambiance, and exactly that southern French feeling you crave on vacation. The food was also delicious, fresh, and generously portioned. If you're looking for an authentic place with good food and a special atmosphere, this is the place for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would definitely return.

A great restaurant in the hinterland, yes, it's a wonderful place to be. Taking over from the iconic Chez Michel, number 1, wasn't easy. The new owners have risen to the challenge successfully. While people may not come specifically for Jeanine's ravioli anymore, they still flock to the lovely terrace overlooking the church square to enjoy Niçoise specialties like zucchini blossom fritters, as well as other dishes as varied as frog legs, beef tartare, or grilled octopus. It's worth noting that the fries are homemade. The owners are welcoming. The service is pleasant, the dishes we ordered were high quality, and the portions were generous. The food is homemade, and you can tell! If you have the chance to meet the chef (who is also the owner), you'll find him to be a man passionate about his craft and driven by a desire for creativity. I highly recommend this establishment.

A very pleasant restaurant in the evening; we had the set menu. Children can also play safely nearby, which is perfect. Service was a little slow.

We celebrated my birthday at Michel's, there were about twenty of us, and honestly, everything was perfect! 🎉 The organization was top-notch from start to finish, the staff were lovely, attentive, and very professional. A huge thank you in particular to our server who took such great care of us throughout the evening. The menu was excellent, with a special mention for the ravioli 😍 I'm a huge fan of ravioli, and it had been a very long time since I'd had any so good! The wine was also very good and served unlimited; we had everything we needed. The whole group was truly delighted with the evening. A must-visit spot where you eat very well and receive excellent service. Thank you again to the entire team for helping to make my birthday such a success! ❤️

This restaurant is highly recommended for its typical Niçoise cuisine, ideal for discovering the region's gastronomy. The food is excellent. The service is a little slow, but this was understandable given the large number of guests attending a wedding. The panoramic view of the A202 and the Var region is magnificent. I highly recommend this establishment.

A fantastic experience at Chez Michel! The setting on the small village square is truly lovely, especially on the terrace. The cuisine is authentic and generous, with homemade Niçoise dishes (special mention for the ravioli 👌). A warm welcome and friendly atmosphere make you feel right at home. Excellent value for money.
