Chez Peyo sur Royan

Good pizzas, friendly staff but far too long a wait to be served.

An evening stroll along the seafront in Royan… Seeing how crowded it was, I decided to call and make a reservation. They refused, telling me there would be plenty of room. Finally, an hour later, we arrived just in time to get the last table… Then, regarding the service, we asked for water, which was difficult to get. The same went for oil and bread; we had to keep asking for them. Despite this, the staff were friendly and apologized for the small oversights, so we forgave them, and their friendliness trumped everything else. As for the food… the dishes arrived very quickly despite the restaurant being full… the breaded chicken in the salad or in the children's menu was nothing special. The salad was swimming in too much dressing. As for the pizza, even though the crust was too thin for my liking, it was alright. It lacked a bit of flavor, but overall it was okay. The setting is lovely, right on the seafront in Royan, especially in the summer. The prices aren't excessive, so it's decent value for money. Ultimately, we were expecting a bit more from an Italian restaurant, but it does the job.

Best experience ever! You order and you get it within 10 minutes. The servers are also so great, nothing to complain about, and the atmosphere is just the atmosphere, nothing to complain about.

It's been a long time since I've had such a good pizza. The crust was delicious and cooked perfectly. My son was delighted with his pizza; he would have happily eaten more.

My partner and I ate on the terrace last night; we had tagliatelle, carbonara, and gorgonzola. It was really delicious. And above all, the two waiters outside that day were incredibly welcoming. The welcome alone makes you want to come back.
