Comme au Vietnam sur Paris

I ordered three Vietnamese coffees to go. Imagine my surprise when I saw that each glass was only half full of ice and coffee. Without the ice, the glass was only about a quarter full of coffee. Which seems very little considering I paid €6.50 per coffee…

What a beautiful place! A one-way ticket to Vietnam, everything is homemade, from the iced tea to the homemade ice cream, not to mention all the delicious specialties. Thank you for your hospitality; it was a very pleasant interlude.

Excellent Vietnamese cuisine, a lovely setting and impeccable service!

A lovely discovery this evening: Hội An Café. The restaurant markets itself as having the "best Bún Bò Huế in town"; while I don't have enough experience to definitively confirm this, the food is certainly high quality. I really enjoyed the Bún Bò Huế: the broth is delicate, not too spicy to begin with – making it accessible to those less experienced – and the preparation of the meat is delicious. I also appreciated the absence of pig's feet, which makes the dish more fluid and easy to eat. I also discovered Bánh Bột Lọc, these small, slightly sticky tapioca pancakes filled with pork and shrimp, which I found to be very well done. For drinks, my usual guilty pleasure, sugarcane juice, wasn't available, but their iced tea is quite pleasant, as is the Cà phê sữa đá I had for dessert. The place, located on Rue de Tolbiac between Avenue d'Italie and Avenue d'Ivry, is a charming little spot with very nice decor. The staff is welcoming and authentically Vietnamese (probably from the city center, judging by the menu – something to check). Finally, the price-quality ratio seems fair and in line with the prices in the area. In short, a good, affordable option in the neighborhood, where I'll gladly return to try other dishes and revise my review if necessary!

• The chicken spring rolls were fried to a crisp, with a lightly seasoned filling; the wontons, a mix of pork and crab meat, had a clear yet flavorful broth. • The rice paper rolls were translucent, revealing soft and smooth rice noodle rolls inside. Dipped in peanut sauce and fish sauce, and wrapped in lettuce, they were incredibly delicious. • The mango shrimp salad was perfectly balanced between sweet and sour, not cloyingly sweet; the ginger lemon tea and tamarind peanut drink were homemade, just the right amount to cut through the richness.

Discover the hidden gem of Hoi An in Paris's 13th arrondissement. Hidden in a Vietnamese neighborhood, warm lanterns beckon. A chance encounter with a Vietnamese owner, the family business passed down through generations. A Saigon platter arrives, a delightful mix of crispy and tender, steamed and fried dishes. Fried chicken spring rolls, pork and crab wontons. Fragrant shrimp rice paper rolls, soft and delicate rice noodle rolls. Peanut sauce and rich fish sauce, perfect for wrapping in lettuce. The wonton soup is clear and flavorful, brimming with shrimp and pork. The shrimp and mango salad is refreshing, sweet and sour with a fruity aroma. Ginger, lemon, tamarind, and peanut drinks, both refreshing and cleansing. A 40-euro serving for two is devoured in minutes. Another order of thin pancakes, sizzling as they cook. Golden turmeric rice batter, filled with plump shrimp. Perilla and scallions add fragrance, mango and fresh vegetables are crisp and refreshing.

A wonderful discovery in the 13th arrondissement. The Bánh Bột Lọc are among the most authentic I've tasted in Paris, and the Bún Bò Huế is bursting with flavor, with a truly fragrant broth. I also loved the homemade tamarind, pineapple, and ginger drink—original and refreshing. The artisanal gelatos are some of the best I've had in Paris so far. They also offer Vietnamese afternoon tea. A place I highly recommend.
