Côté Sud sur Agen

A wonderful discovery on this Friday evening at the end of July. We received a very warm welcome from the owners. We started with a kir (white wine and blackcurrant liqueur) and a local blonde beer, Maltéo. Then, for starters, marinated beef carpaccio with parmesan shavings and basil, followed by a salad of scallops and prawns sautéed with garlic and parsley. Our main courses consisted of pan-seared sea bream fillet, risotto, mussels and scallops, and oven-roasted duck confit with Sarlat-style potatoes. For dessert, we enjoyed a pavlola with seasonal fruit and sorbet, and a three-chocolate crisp. To round off our meal, we had Limoncello and Calvados. The chef is skilled at both cooking and plating, creating dishes that are pleasing to both the palate and the eye. The owner suggested local wines (Buzet red and Gascony white) to complement the dishes, which were perfectly paired. Very friendly people, we recommend stopping by their table. Magnificent! A very pleasant welcome, with distinction and humor. The owner demonstrates great professionalism and elegance, while the owner offers refined, generous, and flavorful cuisine. A truly exceptional restaurant, the likes of which are rare... The owners know their craft and are clearly passionate. The presentation of the dishes is undeniably beautiful: it's sometimes difficult to resist the temptation to dig in and spoil the appearance, and yet... Far too tempting to resist! Go there, a gourmet experience is guaranteed.

Lunch for 3 adults on a Saturday. Excellent welcome. Very pleasant setting and decor. The cuisine is truly top-notch, the presentation of the dishes is superb, and everything is in terms of taste and flavor. And all for a very reasonable price. A lovely conversation with the chef.
