As a customer for 30 years, I can say the renovation was definitely welcome. The place is friendly, pleasant, and well-maintained. The only downside is that the two tills placed across the space obstruct the flow of people in front of the dessert and cheese counters whenever there are 7 or 8 people in line.

We tried it after the renovation. The place is nice, but the food was terrible. A tiny piece of meat, like a microscopic sirloin steak, cost over €16. The "brewer's platter," which is supposed to be sauerkraut, wasn't good. They could have at least bothered to mix all the ingredients together to give it some flavor. The savory side dish with the sauerkraut was undercooked and in a small portion. I find it expensive for what's offered. I understand it's a cafeteria, but sometimes they could make a little more effort.

After renovations, the restaurant has reopened, but the layout is very poorly designed. It's unclear where to go; there are no signs. The sauces and vegetables are placed in front of the grilled meats and hot dishes, which means that people waiting in line push past you to grab the sides while you're waiting to be served. It needs improvement. On the plus side, the food is good quality and the vegetables are flavorful, which is nice.

03/11/2024: Entré à l’improviste au vu d’une impression d’ensemble attractive, n’ayant pas réservé, j’ai été chanceux il restait une table. Il vaut mieux réserver. Accueil et service fort sympathiques. Comme j’étais seul, j’ai pu dîner et être servi rapidement, disons sans attendre entre les plats. C’est très appréciable. Et donc la cuisine: Le foie gras maison est excellent. La truite très bien cuisinée et accompagnée. Très bon rapport qualité prix. Un excellent souvenir de ce dîner pour cette soirée de passage à Brive. Merci.
