Deep sur Marseille

I don't often leave reviews, but I've seen recent reviews that I personally feel could be misleading. The staff are regularly welcoming, chatty (when it's not too busy to chat). They'll offer recommendations, and know about each of their different bags of coffee for sale. They'll speak English to you if you need (despite the fact that if we go on holiday to anglophone countries, everyone can only speak english). I've personally been a barista elsewhere for years and it's unforgiving. You have a bad day, or your family member is sick, or you slept badly, or you have a headache, you had better fake a smile or you get a 1 star review. You also had better not remotely feel the stress of 30 people coming in at once. We give zero grace for people who aren't even on amazing wages.

Excellent coffee! I'm confused by the comments about the service. I received a very warm welcome; it was simple and efficient, and they weren't pushy while remaining polite and pleasant. You can go there without hesitation for the matcha and coffee; it's truly delicious! (I would perhaps suggest that the drinks could be a little warmer.)

Deep is the coffee shop where I found the best specialty coffee in Marseille (of all the ones I've tasted ;)). Their matcha is also delicious, and their pastries are to die for. The only downsides I found were the lack of seating and the slightly small space.

A truly excellent café, ideally located in the heart of the city. I stop there every time I visit Marseille; it's a must. Their matcha is divine, and the flat white is amazing. They're also very well-known for their homemade chai. The terrace is lovely, on a quiet street, and they're pet and kid friendly. Go without hesitation.

I asked for a latte with whole milk, they would give me an iced latte.
