The fish and meat dishes were delicious, perfectly cooked, and presented with great care. Each plate was bursting with flavor and demonstrated true culinary expertise. The value for money is excellent. The quality of the ingredients, the level of cuisine, the service, and the ambiance fully justify the price. We are happy to recommend this restaurant.

We recently visited La Derrier in Metz on a Saturday evening for the 21:30 second seating. Unsurprisingly for a weekend, the restaurant was extremely busy. The food itself was fantastic. We opted for the 6-course menu and added the extra Wagyu beef option, which was absolutely delicious and well worth it. The service, however, was a bit chaotic. When we arrived and mentioned our reservation, we weren't shown to a seat but were instead told to just pick a table ourselves outside on the street level. It quickly became apparent why: there was only one server handling every single table by himself. He was literally running around trying to keep up. It was completely out of his control and definitely not his fault—he was just clearly overwhelmed by the sheer volume of guests. Because of this, a few things slipped through the cracks, like our water order being completely forgotten. Overall, the kitchen delivers a great experience, but management really needs to ensure they have adequate staffing on a Saturday night to support their hardworking team

Disappointed by the blind tasting menu; the dishes lacked overall flavor, although the presentation was very elegant and attractive. The Wagyu beef was extremely fatty; was this due to the cut of meat and/or the cooking method?

A wonderful experience and culinary discovery! We opted for the four-course menu. The decor is lovely: warm and cozy. The only suggestion I would make is to offer a set menu with wines included (perhaps one or two) to avoid the bill becoming too high.
