Domaine de la Tuilerie - Auberge citadine sur Bessines

The weekend of August 15th, the staff were unfriendly and didn't listen to the customer, leaving us in full sun even though there were shaded seats available. The meal was good, though??? Apparently, the customer isn't king.

I've had lunch or dinner there several times. The setting is fantastic. The service is good and the cuisine is well-executed. However, I find this restaurant a bit overpriced. The dishes are good but rather traditional and, above all, not generous enough for the price. A major disappointment is the fish parillada at €39, which is more expensive than the set menu (starter, main course, dessert). While it's certainly good, the portion is far too small considering the price, falling short of the convivial and generous spirit of a typical Spanish dish. When ordering, we were asked about the "generous" portion size, and the answer was misleading. I'm still giving it 4 stars despite this disappointment because the other dishes at our table, including the €37 set menu (starter, main course, dessert), are worthy of 4 or 5 stars.

Dinner tonight for four on the terrace. Two very good and generous set menus at €29. Two à la carte dishes, both refined and flavorful. Impeccable service, very well-maintained dining room. We had a wonderful time; I highly recommend it!

I've rarely eaten so well! From the fish to the meat, everything was exquisite! The welcome and the setting are super friendly. Excellent value for money, we'll be back.

A warm welcome, a magnificent setting, a superb terrace, and a beautiful indoor fireplace. The staff were fantastic! We had a wonderful meal. Reservations are highly recommended.

The cuisine is consistent with the restaurant's positioning in terms of quantity, quality, and price. The service, however, lacks dynamism and could benefit from being more attentive (what about the two bread baskets arriving within two minutes, and the oysters we supposedly ate "too quickly" without waiting for the bread, which arrived ten minutes later?). Nevertheless, the setting remains charming, and the Domaine de la Tuilerie is a Niort institution, but one that shouldn't rest on its laurels.

A truly wonderful lunch. From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by the warm welcome and professionalism of the staff. The service was attentive, the cooking impeccable, and the ingredients of exceptional quality. The only minor hiccup was a portion of fries that arrived at the end of our meal, a little out of sync. Nothing dramatic, though, as the staff's smiles and the quality of the food more than made up for it. A place we'll gladly return to.
