Domaine Des Avenieres sur Cruseilles

We stayed at the castle for 2 nights in the blue room. Although we were generally satisfied, we did not rediscover the magic of the place where we had stayed a dozen years ago... We had our dinners at the castle both evenings and it seemed a shame that the menu offered only changed once a week. On the other hand, the breakfast is royal and offers a wide choice. The reception staff, although very friendly, were not able to give us information about the visits; we visited the Château de Menthon St Bernard which is a marvel (at reception they couldn't tell us if it was open and what the visiting hours were) a bit of a shame... The exteriors are very well maintained and we were satisfied with the room which offered a magnificent view of the lake and mountains.

Place only visited, the setting is very beautiful and well maintained.

Après une dernière visite il y a près d’un an, j’ai apprécié la nouvelle décoration et le menu proposé. Le service était cordial. Les plats originaux et bons. Surpris en bien!

Ce n’est pas forcément le lieu qui m’a attiré bien qu’il soit atypique ; à ce sujet, ne manquez pas le bar qui vaut la peine d’y passer un moment. Si j’y suis allé deux soirs de suite, c’est que j’ai vraiment été séduit par la qualité et l’originalité de la cuisine. C’était top : excellent foie gras, oeuf mollet à ne pas rater, un menu d’un parfait rapport qualité prix, sans oublier l’assiette de fromages. Desserts forts corrects. Certes, il y a un vrai problème d’organisation et de qualité de service dans cet établissement. Mais, tout le monde est de bonne volonté, voire souriant, alors, ce n’est pas grave. Very nice home. Magnificent setting and view. Quality cuisine and very good value for money. A very pleasant stay. Worth mentioning is the possibility of recharging several electric cars.

Great welcome (friendly and attentive staff), great setting, spacious room equipped with everything you need to relax (jacuzzi, fireplace, sauna), good quality and well-supplied breakfast (taken in the room to enjoy view). The big downside, I found the evening meal well below the standard of the estate, cocktails with little alcohol but not paid at the price of the Mocktails (and in the end not super original for my taste and a lot of ice cubes), lack of privacy regarding the arrangement of the tables (we were only able to relax when the couple on the next table left), no explanation on the menu.
