Magnificent estate, a large lake surrounded by green nature, beautiful authentic rooms and a high quality restaurant. We had a superb stay.

The Chatelard estate located in Dirac is one of the exceptional places in Charente. The hosts, Chef Ivan Gotfredsen and Pascale Erni, have this passion for excellence. Quality of welcome, cuisine enhanced by high quality products, an exceptional environment, all come together to have a pleasant time.

Very good service, high quality staff the food is excellent. Very good value for money.

Lovely hotel and restaurant, cannot fault the service. Rooms dropped a star because the shower head could not be attached to the wall. However would definitely be happy to visit again.

Lunch today, good meal, idyllic setting. One downside, I wanted to bring a bottle of wine that we hadn't finished, a bottle purchased on site. I was told that there is a corkage fee and we would have had to pay another 15 euros to be able to take it home! After research, the corkage fee exists but for a bottle that you have brought. So we pay for the bottle at the restaurant and they ask us 15 euros more to be able to finish the wine at home. The bottle is expensive!! Not correct . We left the bottle and won't come back.

Very enjoyable Christmas break at the Domaine du Chatelard. Christmas lunch was wonderful and our suite was exceptional.

A perfect New Year's Eve with very well prepared and served dishes.
