Ecuyer Normand sur Chandai

We recently dined again at L'Ecuyer Normand, a restaurant we greatly appreciate. The dishes are always of high quality, and we discover new flavors each time, with a careful balance of sweet and savory and just the right seasoning. From the outside, the restaurant is discreet, perhaps too much so, as it's not prominent enough and is overshadowed by the pizzeria next door. But once you step inside, it's a warm and welcoming place with friendly owners who love their work, a rare thing these days. In short, if you're in Chandai, stop by; you won't regret it. Below, our first visit: Our first experience at this restaurant (but certainly not the last). Warm atmosphere, very pleasant service and welcome. From the €40 menu, I recommend the skate tataki as a starter—a real treat, although in fact, the entire dinner was excellent, and the seasonings were just perfect. There were four of us, and we all felt the same way when we left. A big thank you to the chef and the young waiter.

We received a wonderful welcome from a charming lady at this inn. We arrived as a group of nine with a reservation made just two days prior. We were on a very tight schedule, and it was perfectly respected. The chef prepared a unique menu for us, a main course and dessert, which was a delightful surprise. We started with a small amuse-bouche, followed by beautifully presented and refined dishes: a fresh vegetable salad, salmon, and a nougat glacé. Pure bliss! The chef came to greet us as we were leaving, which made us laugh. 😂 Congratulations and best of luck!

We discovered this inn on my journey between Verneuil d’Avre et d’Iton and L’Aigle, and it was a truly delightful find. The welcome was exceptional, a lovely dining room, and the food divine! So much so that we wanted to lick the plates clean. The lamb was a delight, the starter was superb and refreshing, the fish a real treat, and the desserts were simply irresistible. We returned the very next day upon our return, and the experience was repeated: pure bliss! Bravo! Don't change a thing, except perhaps consider investing in air conditioning in the future, as we were lucky enough to have superb but very, very hot weather, and despite the inn's historic character, we were a little too warm. The prices are very reasonable, and the ingredients are fresh and of high quality. Thank you for this wonderful discovery; we will be back!

Always a wonderful experience at L'Ecuyer Normand. We go every time they change their menu to discover the new flavors, and they never disappoint. The ingredients are fresh and carefully selected, and the chef's work is all about subtlety: flavors, textures, and presentation. The welcome and service are attentive without being intrusive. This small roadside inn is a very good restaurant offering quality food made primarily with local ingredients. The prices are reasonable (considering the menu choices and the quality of the food and service), and the welcome is warm. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates good food.

Excellent food, more than fair value for money

Originally from the Paris region, we had the pleasure of having lunch today in this lovely establishment. A wonderful discovery on a weekend road trip! A very cozy place, incredibly pleasant staff, and refined, delicious cuisine with three starters, three main courses, and three desserts, which speaks volumes about the fresh, seasonal ingredients. Honestly, go in; you won't be disappointed.
