Ed.Em sur Chassagne-Montrachet

MAKE THE 15 MINUTE DRIVE FROM BEAUNE! Set in the quiet, picturesque village of Chassagne-Montrachet amongst the world famous white wine vineyards of Burgundy is this superb restaurant behind a nondescript facade. We were cheerfully greeted by the front of house staff, promptly offered beverages and thus began our wonderful dinner. The dining room is tastefully decorated, being cozy yet sophisticated. There were 3 menus ranging from 3 to 7 courses. I had the 5 course, my husband had 7. We started with the perfectly poached and presented blue lobster, moved on to the best pigeon dish I've ever eaten (not too gamey and definitely not too overcooked). My husband had the veal with calamari and artichokes which could have gone totally wrong in a lot of ways but here was pulled off sublimely. The red mullet was divine! And then-dessertsss! Needless to say, each one was heavenly. It also goes without saying that the wine carte was a piece of oenophilic literature. Many, many pages filled with familiar names (Cotes de Beaune, Givrey Chambertin, Meursault etc) all the way to the tiniest Burgundian plots (Batard Montrachet, Chassagne Montrachet, etc) a lot of which are most likely within walking distance. I'm not a connoisseur but my husband knows his way around a good bottle of wine but we went with the recommendation from the Sommelier. Wow. Did he make the right choice. And I must mention the warm, friendly front of house staff who were prompt, very friendly, efficient and extremely knowledgable. They turned what could have been a very good dinner into something memorable and extremely enjoyable. Thank you to them and the fabulous chefs for your passion. We will be back!

Very nice establishment. Everything was perfect. We were amazed and delighted our taste buds with a multitude of flavors. While enjoying an excellent Chassagne Montrachet 1er cru.

The cuisine is impeccable. We enjoyed ourselves. The service, however, was not up to par. A sommelier or equivalent would be more than welcome.

Delicious. We had a pleasant time. The dishes are tasty (special mention for the lobster). And the service was lovely. Thank you again for your welcome and your kindness.

The restaurant unfortunately does not live up to its Michelin star. The dishes are good but lack originality and flavors. As for the service, the waitresses were very pleasant. The room is not warm. I therefore do not recommend this restaurant.

Second visit to this restaurant, 5 years after the first. Excellent cuisine, lots of flavors very well combined. Classic cuisine with a touch of originality. Very good products. The cooking is perfect, the sauces excellent, the desserts very tasty. The wine list is extensive! The service is very attentive and the chef is also in the dining room a lot. A well-deserved star.

Friendly and smiling welcome. But the service is not up to par with a Michelin-starred restaurant. The dishes are not always announced, we wait a long time in front of our empty plates before being cleared, the dishes arrive on barely warm plates, without the sauce: we therefore wait for the waiter to return with the sauce before starting , we came to collect our order for wine when we asked to order it during the entrance… As found in some comments, the service is the big downside of the restaurant, even though it has 1 star! However, the waiters are smiling and friendly, the food is pretty good (even the cold-warm pollack) and the decoration of the dishes is pretty. Concerning wine, there is a wide choice but it remains very expensive even for the most local!

Very good food but service has to be improved, and with a smile, to be at the expected level for a Michelin Star restaurant!
