We arrived at 9 am without a reservation and were warmly welcomed by a friendly and smiling staff. We ate very well; everyone found something they liked, from the mussels and fish and chips to the bull stew and burgers. The desserts were excellent too. Thank you to the chef! And a huge thank you to the owner and her waitresses who, in addition to being incredibly pleasant, knowing it was our father and grandfather's 70th birthday, arrived with dessert and a candle, playing birthday music and singing. It touched us all. I highly recommend it; we will be back. Thank you to the whole wonderful team at El Paso; we had a very nice evening.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ El Paseo in Grau-du-Roi: a great way to end the holidays… and definitively doom our diet. Saturday at lunchtime, for our last meal before heading back to Belgium, we discovered El Paseo. And frankly, what a great idea! We started with a sangria and a non-alcoholic mojito, both perfectly chilled, very pleasant, and ideal for the heat. Enough to make us pretend the holidays would never end. Sylvie chose the dish of the day, a superb platter of fish and shellfish: grilled salmon, prawns, mussels, cuttlefish, and scallops, accompanied by salad, lemon, sauce, and fries. A plate as beautiful as it was generous. The photo is in the comments, because at this point, there's no need for further explanation: it speaks for itself. For my part, not being exactly the biggest fan of anything with fins, I opted for a chicken tagine with olives. And then, a huge surprise: the tagine was served with fries! A tagine with fries… I didn't know that combination existed. World cuisine has just reached a new level. And the worst part is, it was absolutely delicious! A generous tagine, very flavorful and perfectly fresh. After finishing this mountain of a dish, however, my stomach sent a registered letter to the kitchen stating that it would not take any responsibility for dessert. So I replaced dessert with an excellent espresso, very flavorful, not too bitter, absolutely perfect. Sylvie, on the other hand, still had room for a homemade Catalan crème brûlée, which she particularly enjoyed. Some people clearly have an optional stomach. All for around €60 for two, including two cocktails, two lunch specials, the main courses, Sylvie's dessert, and my coffee. Very reasonable! The staff is friendly, the setting pleasant, and the view of the Grau-du-Roi seawall is truly lovely. Despite the heat, a gentle sea breeze made the experience very enjoyable. And then there's the real boss of the place: an enormous Maine Coon lounging on a sofa by the entrance, patiently waiting for a customer to come by so he can give them a pat. He doesn't serve anything, doesn't clear any tables, but he's a master of hospitality and napping. A truly exemplary career. In short, a wonderful discovery and a particularly successful final meal of our holiday. Good food, generous portions, a reasonable bill, friendly staff, a lovely view, and a giant cat. We headed back to Belgium with full stomachs, our wallets still intact, and that slightly unpleasant feeling that our holiday could have easily gone on for a few more days. Thanks El Paseo… you didn't need to give us another reason not to want to go home! 😄
