Escalandes sur Lesperon

The Hôtel (and restaurant) is a traditional, unpretentious, hotel run by a wonderful couple Marina and Wilfried. They offer a warm welcome and despite us arriving late (car had broken down on A63) importantly after the kitchen had closed, still offered us delicious regional cooking. Wilfried is the genius in the kitchen, all the items from the menu were simply delicious and would cost at least double in a London restaurant. The hotel itself is a 10 minute drive off the motorway exit and ideally located for exploring the beautiful countryside or simply stopping on the way to or from Spain. But I'd encourage you to linger, it is a simply beautiful part of the world. Marina mentioned she'd worked in Ireland and also London and I can see why she returned. Lesperon is a haven of peace, tranquility is close to stunning countryside and just over 20 minutes from the beach at Cap-de-l'Homy. Helpful to know the hotel provides free wifi that works without you having to pass over email contact details etc. and it has ample parking. The closest station is Morcenx about an hour from Bordeaux.

I can't rate the rooms because I only had the meal there, for which there is nothing to complain about! Top service and very pleasant surroundings!

Charming hotel-restaurant with beautiful authentic deco. Evening restaurant is definitely recommended, provided you make a reservation. No good insulation in the rooms, I slept above the kitchen and you heard everything until the end of the shift. Watching TV in bed because there is no seat in the room. I missed a kettle to drink something warm in winter. But there was a large foot fan in the room which was completely unnecessary. Good shower. Free parking in front of the restaurant. I don't think breakfast is worth it for 10 Euro! You have to ask for an egg yourself and there is not much choice. Good location not far from the main road and yet quiet.

The room was simple but clean and tidy. The house was quaint. Really a lot of story behind it. Marina was quite friendly. We almost felt sorry that all we really wanted to do was sleep. The village is really in the middle of nowhere. The restaurant was a bit too upscale for us. So you better arrive full.

Booked at the last minute, we were very well received with a smile and kindness in all simplicity. A simple, clean hotel offering beautiful rooms and a reasonable price/quality ratio.

Excellent refreshment for travelers, who in 5 minutes from the highway can find a comfortable bed in a warm and well-equipped room, albeit humbly. The restaurant allows you to pamper yourself with a delicious dish, and the breakfast is rich and refined. Finally, the common areas are a joy for the eyes: the 19th century building tells its story also thanks to traditional objects, and the fireplace lit in winter fills the heart. Vote 10!

Very charming hotel, with pretty Christmas decorations and a fireplace. A treat during this period. In addition, the manager is very nice.

Marina, dispose d'un établissement ou l'on se sent très bien. Bâtiment ancien mais décoré avec goût dans un style qui rappelle les anciennes bâtisses. Cependant tout le confort nécessaire est à notre disposition. Chambre, sanitaire très propre. Je vous recommande le dîner à l'hôtel, le mardi de Marina qui assure le rôle de Chef cuisinier est un vrai cordon bleu. Merci à Marina pour son accueil et sa gentillesse. Nous reviendrons.
