I'm really not an art lover, but I try to get involved with it every now and then. There are certainly some significant images here. Unfortunately, the explanations, if any, are not really good. It's just pictures and sometimes terrible modern art...

MuMa, the André Malraux art museum is a must in the city of Le Havre. There are numerous paintings by painters from the Normandy region...Boudin, Monet Cezanne, Pissarro, Morisot, Jongkind.....

This museum is very interesting and I appreciated the temporary exhibition "photographing in Normandy", as well as the permanent exhibition, where there are magnificent paintings by E.Boudin and C.Pissarro.

Art museum was about an hour or so walk through. Most of the writings about the paintings were in French, so used a translator to read the ones I cared about. A lot of the art work had audible recordings if you choose to go that route. First time here and possibly my last, as we’re from the US. So took this opportunity to view some recognized artwork with my own two eyes. Very surreal if you stop and think about the history you’re staring at.

A beautiful photo and painting exhibition of the region

Going far while wonders exist close to us... this museum is a marvel for Normandy with its important collection of works by impressionist painters... and the exhibition "Photographing in Normandy" allowed me to discover that the Normandy had been an inspiration for many photographers of the 19th century. Very pleasant museum to sit, observe, scrutinize, admire, discover, interpret the smallest details of a painting, a photograph. Friendly welcome. Well done !!
