Fauchon, France sur Paris

Service was friendly and professional - Mahamadou gave us excellent attention. Food was hit and miss - the foie gras was good; the asparagus very good. Main courses cold - the chicken was a bit dry; the gnochetti lacked seasoning and was cold. There was a miserable tray of pastries - looking very sad and lonely in a big display case. The coffee (some sort of capsule) was poor. The decor is dreadful - like a 1970's discotheque. Sadly, it really doesn't live up to the Fauchon name and prior reputation. Next door there is a lovely Fauchon shop - the Cafe needs to be upgraded to that sort of standard.

Famous and for a good reason. Good good food and food quality. Service was great though a bit "cold". But the ambience destroyed it all. Cold, unfriendly, not at all aligned with with the brand promises of experience and feeling. Pity!
